Neal hasn't played a game in Calgary yet, and fans are already putting his name up for the expansion draft. Outstanding!

Once this goes through, it will no longer be easier making the playoffs in the west. Hopefully will be a perennial playoff team by then.

The Seattle Seattles takes good ol' local-ish (Spokane) Washington state native Derek Ryan. You read it here first.
Treliving is already thinking ahead.

If one was to assume the expansion draft goes down in the summer of 2020..
Protect:
Gaudreau
Monahan
Tkachuk
Lindholm
Backlund
Jankowski
Bennett
Hanifin
Andersson
Gio
Starting Goalie?
Exempt: Dube, Valimaki, Phillips
UFA's: Brodie, Hamonic, Czarnik, Stone, Frolik
Notable non-UFA's who are exposed: Neal, Ryan, Mangiapane, Foo, Gillies, Parsons, Kylington
I wouldn't want to lose Mangiapane, Parsons or Kylington.

I’m not sure why Vegas doesn’t participate in the expansion draft when they just made the Stanley Cup final?

They don't get a share from the expansion fee. Seems fair.

Daly has told LeBrun that the NHL's executive committee also approved a re-alignment plan for when Seattle joins the NHL.
While Daly wouldn't confirm the specifics, it is believed that Arizona will move to the central division and Seattle will join the Pacific.

I think anyone who predicts the Flames are going to Houston should be auto banned.

I hope with this realignment, they get rid of the wild card for playoffs, and turn it into a divisional format.
Divisional Semifinals
Divisional Final
Conference Final OR Final Four matchups based on league standing seedings
Stanley Cup Final

And I think that you probably believe in fairies, unicorns, honest politicians, and a new rink in Calgary.
Sucks to be you!

Not with a new arena in Phoenix going to be built for the Suns. And they will be looking for another tenant to bring in revenue. Coyotes will probably be staying.
Edwards lives in Switzerland. What does he care if a team is in Calgary anymore.

So why bother posting here then if you are so gung ho they move? There is a perfectly stable franchise North of Calgary you could jump on board with.

Never said that I wanted them to move.
But hopes and dreams don't create reality.
Sometimes you have to be realistic when you look at a situation.
In my opinion this is a current ownership that is not interested in being part of the community, along with a community that does not want to partner with the team when it comes to money and increased taxes.
Value of CNRL is down, but the hockey team could be moved for a huge return.
Edwards is interested in money first and foremost, than that makes logical sense to me.
You cant handle somebody having a contrary opinion than maybe you should take it up with your Mom.
