Top 5 (in no particular order:
Sharks
Lightning
Jets
Pens
Leafs
Honorable mention: Flames, I think we are going to have a great season and surprise a lot of people (a lot depends on goalie keeping, if Smith can play to the level he played at last year for the whole season, I think we are in good shape).
Bottom 5:
Habs
Sens
Coyotes
Canucks
Hurricanes
Honorable mention: Hawks, they are just not better than last season.
I think the Sabres are going to move up in the standings and be better this season, mainly because I think the Habs and Sens are going to be way worse. I don't think the Coyotes are any better this year, the Canucks are just too young and their goalie isn't good enough to keep them in games on his own. I think they Canes lost a lot in Lindholm and Hanifin.

I'm actually tempted to sign on to this fully, but I think Ottawa probably will be. I just don't think they're destined for the absolute basement. They'll probably hover around the 26/27 spot, in my estimation. And Arizona, I already don't understand why they were so bad last year, and they're obviously better than they were, so yeah, with you there. Maybe not a playoff team, but trending in that direction, is my guess.
But Vegas made the final so who the hell knows anything anymore.

I think there is a good chance Arizona will finish ahead of Edmonton this year.

I will be surprised if any Pacific team ends up top-five in the league. I think it is going to be very closely contested between four or maybe five teams, and I don't see one of them pulling so far ahead of the pack to finish in the same range with the Eastern powerhouses.

I don't think Arizona will be bottom 5 this year either. But how do you come to that conclusion with Ottawa? They are poised to be the worst team in a decade. I think Anaheim will probably finish 25 points ahead of them.

Exactly. Only one really bad team: VAN (I think ARI will be improved - somewhat at least).
Compare that to the Atlantic, with: Montreal, Ottawa, Detroit, and Buffalo. The other 4 teams get 18 freebee games.
I expect TBL, BOS and TOR to have inflated point totals as a result.

Ive seen and heard more than a few people say this now, and I wonder if it's not a bit overstated.
Not saying they will be a powerhouse again, but getting their starting G back for a full season should have them fully in the mix IMO.
Last season with Crawford they were 16-9-2.
Without him they were 17-30-8.

Fair enough argument, but everyone is also a year older and their core isn't getting younger.
They are in tough in their division though. They will have to beat out the Jets, Blues, Preds, Stars, etc who I believe are all better than them. I think they struggle to make the playoffs. I could also be completely wrong about this.

I think Vancouver finishes 22nd overall, just ahead of the Oilers in 23rd. 79pts for the Knuckleheads. No good and no good-er.
