Did you mean this? Because I might be on board with this angle.

Ducks were in a tough spot due to having too many good players. #### them!

They would've lost Manson or Vatanen. Or if they protected those guys, they might've lost Rakell or Silfverberg

Hanifin is 21, has played 239 NHL games and has 83 points

Theodore is 23, has played 114 games and has 46 career points

Hanifin had more NHL points as an 18 year old than Theodore had managed by age 21.

Every time I have watched Theodore play in the NHL (or previously, in the AHL), I think Klyington's play in the AHL would translate just as well to the NHL as Shea Theodore's play in the NHL.

TBH I think Theodore isn't as good as either Schmidt or Miller on Vegas' blue line, which wasn't really that great last year anyways as they benefited from some great goaltending and they were a team with great offensive luck. If Theodore were in Calgary, I don't believe he would be in our top four defense. He might be a better puck mover than Hamonic but he's overall just as shakey defensively as the younger Kylington.

Do I think it's a bad contract? Probably not, he'll probably grow into it as he gains experience. But I don't think of the player as a top pair defenseman.

Kylington needs to show it in the NHL before any comparisons can be made to Theodore. Maybe he can, but it is far from a sure thing. I am not totally sold on Theodore, but I get why Vegas is betting on him.

The information I am picking up from some posters is that the Flames have 5-6 maybe more defensemen that are at least as good as Shea Theodore (some in the the AHL)

For years the Oiler fan base were ridiculed because some poster presented the opinion that the Oilers had 6 players the same calibre of an emerging Giordano.

Nope. You have one poster who really likes Kylington. Your information picker-upper needs to be tuned up.
