Eeewww.. Nickleback!

I myself want to check out the new Coheed and Cambria
The new Coheed is amazing. IMO, it tops Second Stage Turbine Blade as CoCa's best CD. Almost 70 minutes of music too so it's definitely worth the buy.

And to whoever mentioned Propagandhi, I've heard the leak and it's really good. Definitely some of their better work.

I've seen Trail of Dead 3 times, and they are consistently awesome time and time again.

Source Tags & Codes is a fantastic record, and nearly flawless throughout. World's Apart; which is their most recent record, is also quite good, but does suffer from the switch to major label stigma that most band's don't seem able shake quite easily. And odd mix of rockers and sleepers on that record.
I've seen them live twice and their shows are amazing. The energy and intensity doesn't translate to the cds but they are still quite good. Even if you've never heard them before go to one of their live shows if they come through town, it's worth it.

Also for the Vancouverites, the mighty Constantines are coming on the 14th. I've seen them live twice and they are absolutely amazing. The opening band is also stellar, The Hold Steady. This show will rock you down.

The Constantines are one of those Canadian bands I've always been meaning to listen to and see, but never get around to it.

Where are they playing in Van City?

Dicks on Dicks. $20 well worth it. Big Fugazi influence.

Another favorite of mine, as well as a band that came with Trail of Dead in May is the International Noise Conspiracy. New album Armed Love just came out here( i personally have had it since about april), pretty good album some great tunes, songs about revolution that makes you dance.

What a great concert. Those guys put on a great show. I was half-hoping for them to bust out with "New Noise" (by Dennis' former band...the amazing Refused) but sadly it didn't happen.

If you like TI(N)C, I'd try and get ahold of some Minus The Bear.

Well I sadly missed that show. If they had busted out into refused I would have cried for weeks.
IMO, INC is good, but will never live up to Refused. To go back and see Refused live, would be one of my biggest fantasy concerts.

The band that surprised me the most was co-headling act 'The National'. They played an extremely tight set, and their lead singer was ace. Had no idea they had put out 3 records already, and their latest - Alligator, is on heavy rotation on my 'pod.

Download: Mr. November - The National

Yeah, the National are pretty damn good. Alligator is a good record. Have you heard any of their other albums??

Nope. Went to Virgin after I saw the show and was a little choked to see their records for $26.

I'm going to try and find them used on Amazon in the next little while.

That's surprising. Were you looking under "T" or "A".
The bands full name is "And You Will Know us by the Trail of Dead"

Some stores put it under A and other under T. I know HMV has it under T.

Get source tags and codes or madonna if you're going to get anything. I would skip worlds apart.
