What would have become of my life if I had taken up Teddy Hart's casual offer to train me when I ran into him after a Stampede Wrestling show years ago. An acquaintance I was with that night did take him up on it and he's still an indy wrestler still to this day.
I am not kidding, one of my biggest regrets is not trying out for a career in professional wrestling when I was younger.

No regrets. I wish I would have done things differently, but everything has led me to where I am today and I love my life.
With that said...
Not going to the gym. I was hitting the gym hard for a few years. I stopped going for dumb reason, got out of shape, stopped eating properly, got diabetes. Chances are strong that I would of got diabetes anyway but I could have prevented getting it for 30 years.
Not playing hockey. I moved to Lethbridge when I was nearly 11. I thought I couldn't play hockey because I didn't know anybody.
Not getting my degree. I stopped with the diploma. My original intent was to get the diploma and transfer to University for degree. I hated school so I didn't go.
and back to the lighter side...
Not winning the lottery.

I basically skipped how university life should have really been experienced. Except for the Den. I went there a lot.
It's not really that big of deal in hindsight, but it was five years of my life. I did have a social life outside of university, ironically. Sometimes I wonder where I'd be if I put in more effort while on campus. Ah well.

This is pretty much how I feel, I wanted to be a well rounded person with lots of interests, but university is a fleeting time filled with a myriad of unique opportunities. Had I embraced it more I could have shaved years off my career, learnt abroad, interned abroad, skipped that year of grad school, etc. add that all up and I probably set myself back $100k.

You and me both, man. I gave it a go in the 90s, playing in various bands, etc.. but in the end I just didn't devote enough time or practice to pursue it seriously as an actual career.

Passing on going to work for Survivor. Can't say I was a shoe in or got an offer but pretty much had it laid out in front of me.

Not buying a 63 split window Vett back in the early 80's for $500. Buddy was moving to the States and wanted to "unload it".

Back in the 80's I had a chance to buy the "Bandit" version of the Trans Am. A co workers dad had passed away suddenly and they were looking to do a quick sale. I hesitated and someone else bought it.

Not really much, because if there was something I really wanted to do, I did it.
The one thing I would change if I could go back and do it again, was to buy a house sooner. I put it off until it got expensive. One day I was on the bus going home to my rental house and a guy was talking about selling his house in Haysboro for $200 000. By the time I decided to buy, there was no way I could get a house for that price.

today marks the one year anniversary of my dad passing away
those of you that followed the thread about my dad last year you know that we had a great relationship, so it's not really a 'regret' (in the negative sense), but i just wish we could chat again and i could show him a bunch of cool stuff that's happened over the last year... and that he could see how much my son and daughter have grown/changed in the last 12 months. he would have loved to see that - especially the grandkids.

Not going to university. I was a lazy student.
Not buying that 69 Chevelle SS in 1990.
Not traveling in my youth. I’ve never been across the pond.

There are days when I look back and my life looks like a vast slow moving river of regret with swirling eddies of missed opportunity.

This is also another regret of mine. After University, I spent so many nights drinking with shady characters at shady pubs instead of spending time with my folks.

Not spending more time with my son when I had the chance. Definitely my best memories, I wish I had more of them

- Not taking high school as seriously as I should have and just doing as good as I needed to graduate.
- Deciding to go to Robertson College in Winnipeg just because part of it's Multimedia Computer course had 3D modeling in it and not taking a year off to find a good 3D school. I remember the instructors telling us on the first day that if we wanted to do 3D for a living it wasn't the right course since they only taught it for a month. But I was a dumb 17 year old who thought if I dropped out it would have been a big waste having my parents move me there. I ended up moving back here anyway and just pretty much did freelance web and graphic design until I decided to to a real 3D school when I was 30.
- Being stubborn after I was laid off a couple of years ago and only looking for 3D modeler jobs when I should have been looking for anything to keep me in the industry.
- Deciding to move back home to Manitoba last summer after not being able to find work in Vancouver. I might have been able to get WorkBC to help me stay a little longer but the thought of that not working out scared me into deciding to leave. I talked to an ex-recruiter a few weeks ago and he told me being an out of towner with not much experience outside render wrangling and hasn't worked in the industry for 2 years is going to make it not impossible but really tough for me to get back in.

I had a job offer years ago that would have had me developing educational systems across Borneo. I've always thought it would have been awesome to do that for a few years but life and marriage was taking me another direction.

Waiting until I was 30 to go back to school. I was 40 when I finally bought my house and it's exhausting how hard I have to constantly work to catch up.
I spent my 20s as a musician and didn't make a cent, got to travel, play famous venues and record in world class studios though. Might not be defined as success but it's very rewarding and satisfying in other ways.

Job in Costa Rica after graduation from uni. The guy seemed sketchy as hell at the time and was really eager for me to to there. Too eager, it felt like. This was an engineering job, but he was asking about what instruments I could play and if my wife would also want to job out there and living in their group housing thing out in the jungle.
He actually turned out to be legit and does TED talks and stuff, but at the time there were lots of alarm bells going off. He was just kind of an odd hippie type guy.
