We take possession on a Friday and I’m going in to mount blinds, build a temp fence for dogs since the houses on either side are not finished, install vacuflo and central air. Friday is a big day but I wanted to do the floors at the same time but I’m concerned they won’t be dry in time for the move the next day.
Don’t let the vacuflo installer run the venting inside the duct work.

Over time the sealant breaks down and it will starting leaking dust inside your ducts if you do and then get redistributed throughout the house thru your furnace which will choke and congest the air conditioning coil you plan on having installed as well as the reheat coil on the furnace.

I’ve seen this happen to thousands of people I’ve cleaned for in my 30 plus years of service in the industry.

Professionally, about 2500 apparently, based on the quotes I was getting this summer.

Contacting city of Calgary to begin the process to register for TIPP?

Personally, I like doing windows film on certain windows (especially basements). It's not hard to install with no bubbles, but you might have to sacrifice a sheet or two in the name of practice. I think it looks nicer than crappy blinds or cut cardboard many people use. I think it's cheaper as well and something that I don't mind leaving on long term vs something like paper blinds I'm always looking to upgrade later. It also doesn't hurt that windows film on occasion can deter burglars. Opaque vs reflective has pros and cons. You cannot see out for opaque, but can for reflective. Reflective offers privacy during the day when there's more light outside than inside, but does not offer privacy at night when there's more light inside than outside.
