I questioned the whole how is the Cap going up that much even a $5 million dollar bump is significant.


Remember before the lockout and the cap that the Flames were barely hanging on with teams spending $60 million dollars.


I expect that we're going to start moving into teams that are going to be budget teams, and teams that don't even like to keep up to the floor. We're going to get into an economic imbalance again.

Well, something is bound to change—whether it is Winnipeg’s payroll or the makeup of their team. The problem is that with such a small building they will always be at an economic disadvantage. Within their internal cap I can’t see how they keep that roster intact.

I hope it doesn't impact the Flames or smaller markets like it did back in the 90s. A possible North American recession / trade war combined with a high USD doesn't bode well for Canadian markets.
