Not defending that act but it's not a generational thing for humans to take pleasure in inflicting pain to others. It's been going on from the beginning of civilization. These condom and tide pod challenge things are inflicting pain or harm on yourself for no reason other than to appease strangers on the internet. It's just really strange and goes against the first law of nature which is self-preservation.
