I once went on a drain snaking expedition through the whole house and opened up the clean-out port. Such foul smells and this weird grime that was grey and had the consistency something like sour cream / hard boiled egg whites. I still have no idea what that was, but I put on some latex gloves and scooped it out.

The series of butter knives perfectly dropped through the kitchen sink drain was probably the most exciting. Slimy hair with soap scum, probably the least.

Ya there aint nothing attractive about the inside of drain pipes. Can be an awful job. You just gotta power through it and leave the gagging for after you're done.

Drains are like arteries, they slowly clog up and you don't notice anything is wrong until they just stop. I have pulled apart drains that are down to a pencil size hole built up with plaque. It's so gross.

Glad you got it fixed. Always nice to see people solve their own problems
