66 points now in only 51 GP. Just a hair behind Kucherov and MacKinnon in points per game.

For who Crosby’s line mates are and how complete his game is...I would still take him.

Signing a 32yo for another 3 years at 3.5M was quite a gamble at the time. The fact that it's paid off this well is crazy. His shooting percentage career wise has been around 10.1%
UFA year where he only scored 13 goals despite even spending some time on the Rangers as part of a playoff run saw him hit 6.4% down from the 9.4ish for the years prior.
Last year and this year? 13.3 and 18.7%

Credit to their professional scouting dept.
Did he make Chris Stewart expendable?

I don't think it's connected as Stewart was typically toiling in the bottom 6. Staal has been lightning it up especially since he was put with Granlund and Zucker though.

Yes.
Mason Mcdonald and Hunter Smith in the 2nd and Branden Hickey in the third before TB took Point 79 overall.

Laine heating up for the playoffs is a good sign. He's gonna cost a lot to re-sign.

78 players were picked before him...its not like the Flames were the only team to take a pass. Hindsight drafting is easy

No doubt, it's easy to do this every year. In fact why stop at Point when we know the Flames were looking at Kucherov.
Still doesn't change the lament towards the continued lack of success at the draft though.

For sure, just makes it extra frustrating since he was a local kid too

Flames can get to within one of playoff bar tomorrow with a win. Games in hand is then huge for the Kings.
Kings play next against Washington who I gotta think aren't gonna get California swept, so it's conceivable if the flames beat two crap teams tomorrow and Friday that they could be ahead of the kings when they wake up Saturday morning.

I like your optimism!
I have feeling quite glum about the team’s prospects. Those ####ing piece of #### California teams just keeping ####ing winning, I’m so ####ing sick of fighting with them for spots year after year. Can’t they just die already

I would say Brad is not even the most complete player on his line. Bergeron is the key.
