No idea, if it clinched a spot it wasn’t the final spot where an Oilers loss would’ve meant the Flames were out.
The last Oilers Flames situation when it came to playoffs that I recall was in 2007 when Flames clinched after being up 2-0 vs the Oilers here at home, and then heard midway through the game that Nashville had lost their game and Flames were in.
Flames ended up going into cruise control and Oilers won the game 3-2 (and Flames sat everyone the next day and lost again).
And to boot, the Oilers win, which was their last game of the season, put them ahead of Hawks in standings and just behind the Hawks in the draft order. The Hawks went on won the draft lottery and moved up the 5 spots and picked Kane 1st overal......so the Oilers were that close from winning the lottery that year as well if they had lost or otl the Flames in that game.
