Nothing wrong with Hrudey. I like him. But he and Ball definitely have a slight slant to the Flames when calling a game. Which I think is fine I just wish the Leafs had something like that.

Personally TSN with Ferrero and Gord Miller strike the perfect balance of being slightly biased to the Leafs when calling a game.

My personal opinion is that Hrudey and Ball are about as good as it gets for an NHL broadcasting duo. We are lucky to have them. Hrudey is not afraid to call a spade a spade either and call the Flames out when they’re underperforming. I think he’s pretty even keel calling it both ways.

NSH play a very uptempo attacking style. The way they breakout and gain the zone is a joy to watch. The d jump up carry the puck, add that extra layer and get involved offensively a lot.

From this they get sustained pressure and quality, dynamic scoring chances. With a similarly constructed team, this is how CGY should play IMO.
