Yeah, I thought that is an automatic call, or is that only if the stick breaks?

I'd also like to see the reverse angle in the same sequence. It almost looked like Kane slew-footed Giordano causing him to fall and resulting in the 3-on-1.

See you guys and gals in the PGT on Tuesday. (damn work getting in the way of watching Hockey!)
I agree for the most part, but with the Flames power play being so futile, they are better off in a 5 on 5 game. Also, this is how they call it in the playoffs so we might as well get used to it right now.

@Flamenspiel...the whole "that's the way they call it in the playoffs" thing, is a MAJOR irritant. What other sport applies a different interpretation of the rules for the playoffs? IMO, a penalty call in the 1st period of a preseason game, should STILL be a call in the 3rd OT of a game 7 SCF.

@Bloodfetish...The act of slashing a stick out of the hands is the penalty call, without regard to whether the stick breaks. In fact, simply SWINGING in a slashing motion, whether or not contact is made, is defined as an act of slashing..

.Rule 61.1 Slashing is the act of swinging his stick at an opponent, whether contact is made or not.

Totally agree. The same with "he won't call that cause they have the lead" or the "even up call". If it's a penalty then call it, not because you messed up a previous call and the other term "deserves" an even up.
