Montoya has been on the IR with a concussion since November 10. Excellent.

There's no way to know when he's playing behind that massive pile of s*** that is the Edmonton Oilers. He could also be the next Dubnyk.

Malcolm Subban was picked up by Vegas for nothing. Calvin Pickard went for a 6th round pick and a contract dump after clearing waivers. The two best goalies in the AHL right now cleared waivers, one is 24. The Oilers give up assets for a 32-year-old with 4GP this year and a 0.863

God this would have been twice as much fun if we weren’t always losing to that POS franchise.

I think the value isn't bad but I don't think it makes sense for the Oilers to spend assets to try and salvage this season.

Does the Vince McMahon/Chiarelli Bold Moves .gif exist?
Would be fitting here.

I like how Coiler fans on hfboards are jumping up and down thinking that Sather saved their season by trading them a number 1 goaltender. Can you say clueless? I sure know they can’t spell it!
They will figure it out that he is a washed up goalie from Montreal soon enough. Lol.

Sather trading them a number 1 goaltender is in reference to Talbot.

No, they are saying that they never thought the Rangers would ever trade Montoya.

Huh?!
Montoya never played for the Rangers. I think you might have understood them or they are just plain dumb.
P.S. They are just plain dumb.

He was drafted by NYR, but never got a sniff of the NHL until he got traded to Phoenix. I think the joke is that the Oilers were after Montoya at the time.

Montoya has been a relatively solid journeyman goaltender but the Oilers are grabbing him right at the end of his shelf-life.
"Hail Mary" indeed.

A conditional 4th is more reasonable than a 1st and two 2nds, at least.

Poor Montoya has probably gone back into the concussion protocol after hearing of this trade.

A 1st and two 2nds for a useful NHL defenceman is more reasonable than a conditional 4th for a washed-up backup – if it's Hamonic you're referring to.
If it's Reinhart, of course, that's the Oilers' trading philosophy: trade ALL the picks for ALL the garbage!

So is it starts 7 games or just plays in 7 games? With the way Talbot is playing he might come in for relief 7 times before the end of the month.

Terrible post
Besides Oilers traded a 1st and a 2nd for a player they gave away shortly afterwards
