I can't stress this point enough. That video was heartbreaking. He gave a voice to millions of other kids who are bullied, it isn't fair and it isn't right. Period.

If there was no money involved I don't think anyone digs up all this negativity. So much jealousy.

Because it seems so 'natural' and 'in the moment.'

Is posing with the confederate flag really an indication that somebody is a racist or white supremacist? And how long ago was that single photo taken?

I identified pretty heavily with with Keaton when I first saw the video. He has many of the same physical qualities as I do, which I'm sure are due to cleft lip, cleft palette, and other things. We even share the same scars on the side of the head (mine goes from one ear across the top to the other ear).

Regardless of what has come out about his life or how he and his parents behave, I have no doubt that his experience with bullying/being made fun of is true. Kids can be pretty ruthless when you look different. He'll have to develop a thick skin and believe in himself to be strong, as even later in life he'll have to prove that looking different does not mean he's slow/challenged/weird/etc.

People were spreading lies on Twitter than have since been disproven that he was calling other people n-words and because they 'wouldn't take it lying down', he was bullied in response.

I don't know why anyone would make up such nonsense. It perplexes me why those fake tweets would even exist.

Good question, and what was posted yesterday is now being contested by her. She says:

http://people.com/human-interest/mot...-jones-racist/

“The only two photos — the only two photos on my entire planet that I am anywhere near a Confederate flag. It was ironic,” Kimberly said of the photos, adding that their was no racist intent behind the shots. “I’ve said I spent most of my life being bullied and judged because I wasn’t racist.”

She echoed her statements to ABC News, saying that those close to her know she is not racist.

“I feel like anybody who wants to take the time to ask anybody who I am or even troll through some other pictures, I mean I feel like we’re not racist,” she said. She added: “It was meant to be ironic and funny … I am genuinely truly sorry. If I could take it back, I would.”

So, maybe going after her is too much. But certainly the father, based on his body tattoos, is a white supremacist, and she was his spouse at one point. So there's some conjecture here but perhaps she should be given the benefit of the doubt. Hard to say.

Perhaps she should be given the benefit of the doubt? People that have never met her and are making a leap that she stood next to or even god forbid even holds a confederate flag makes her this raging racist, and their righteous flailing indignation is going to cause more harm to her kid then her.

I mean even going by her husbands tattoo's and his incarceration, he's probably a racist, but that doesn't really make her one, but we're so quick to condemn people by association.

The Judge, jury and executioner mentality of the internet combined with the I can do, say or manufacture anything that I want because I'm shielded from the real world consequences is what's wrong with the Internet and takes it so far from the glorious vision of its creation.

Like everything else, people are the reason why we can't have nice things.
