Ryan Kesler is the best example of this in my mind. Always doing these little annoying things, that most of the time go unnoticed, hence, uncalled. Tkachuk is just a kid who has to figure out what that fine line is, which is a line kesler has damn near perfected over his career.
The one difference between Tkachuk and Kesler, at least so far, is that Kesler will do things like sit on the puck on the PK with 20 seconds left in a playoff game. That is to say, cheating. The rest of the stuff he does I hate, but they are at least hockey plays, and I'm sure I would be fine with it if Kesler were a Flame (shudder).

How did those Hanzal and Ladd trades work out for the Wild and Hawks?

Don't do it Tre!

Just say NO to rentals.

Just say no to Evander Kane - and Elliot must know there is a power play specialist out there looking for work who would cost no players in return and knows his way around this rink and would address the 'too nice' problem.

Just saying.

what the sabres are looking for and what the Flames are offering are very different things.

Tre probably has an offer on the table, letting Buffalo think about it.

So to summarize, while Buffalo buffaloes, Treliving is letting Buffalo stew on his offer.

For sure, but he's also likely taking into account the Flames being in attendance for so many Buffalo games as of late. Just trying to connect some dots.

If they didn't want to suspend a guy for a letter of the law infraction you can see why they are all over the map when it comes to handing down suspensions for infractions that are up to interpretation. This is why NHL discipline is rarely ever black and white and why some players get suspended for illegal acts while others like Crosby don't for committing similar infractions. Clown show.

Looks like they may have actually downgraded their center position by moving from Turris to Duchene.

Have been in free fall since that trade. Duchene (who was not good in Colorado last year) has not looked any better since going to Ottawa, and Turris who fit in really well in Ottawa happens to look even better in Nashville.

Plus also gave up Andrew Hammond, their 2018 1st rounder, 2019 3rd rounder, and Shane Bowers (2017 first rounder) to do so.

So not really a good outcome and overall it may have messed with the Mojo of that team. Karlsson not really being healthy hasn't helped either.

Since they traded Turris, the have three wins in fourteen games. Two of those win came against the Avalanche. Maybe Duchene brought the Colorado funk with him.

Corey Perry seems like a better comparison than Raffi Torres

I think this is the closest I came up with as well. If Tkachuk ever leads the league in scoring, it's a lot closer.

Raffi Torres was a No-Talent Ass-Clown. Chuckie takes you off your game and then kills you on the scoreboard.

Hes got 2 points less than "$8.5M Generational Superstar Leon Draisaitl" and hes been suspended for 2 games.

4. Loved Tkachuk’s response to his one-game suspension, coming back as an absolute force against Vancouver. Chris Johnston reported that Ray Whitney from the Department of Player Safety is expected to meet with Tkachuk to explain the problems, and once he figures out whistle-to-whistle, he’s going to be an even bigger force. There’s a lot to like about the way he approaches the game. He watches a lot of hockey, and is often one of the first guys at the rink on both game and non-game days.
Good on Ray Whitney, the Department of Player Safety and The NHL (that hurt to type).

This is the right thing to do, Tkachuk can become a big commodity in the league if they get this part of his game in line.

It is nice to see a proactive approach.

I just hope I don't smash my head in if Buffalo jumps at Calgary's offer.

Although a incredibly unlikely deal given the flames would be trading their captain and Buffalo most likely wants someone young and elite, I would take a

Gio
+ 2019 1st overal pick IF Kane signs a 2+ year extension otherwise a 4th rd 2019 pick
for
Kane

Given the cupboard is full with defensive prospects knocking at the door,

Select just about any D man on the flames roster + a 1st in 2019 if Kane re signs
for
Kane
Buffalo 2018 3rd round pick.

Who is our most valuable D man or do we have 4 guys that would fetch similar values on open market for the different strong points they bring?

calgary has given up a lot of picks of late... i am not a fan of continuing that trend, especially if one is looking at a package for a guy like Kane...

to me, the fact Buffalo is trying to peddle him speaks volumes: the guy is only 26, on track for 40 goals and Buffalo, as far as i can tell, isn't/hasn't tried to sign him?

i mean maybe I'm mistaken about buffalo's lack of interest in signing him... but 26 year olds like that don't grow trees...

There is zero point of trading Gio for Kane. He's our best defenseman. You're not making your team any better.
