Bring back RHD Brodie
Bring back the stretch pass as an actual tactic
Bring back defensemen skating the puck out of their own zone instead of this prodding forward-oriented system
Bring back an offense where defensemen participate as more than guys to dump the puck back into the corners
Get Brodie a partner who isn't Travis Hamonic. He drags Brodie down hard, like he dragged Leddy down last year (Leddy is currently looking like a Norris Candidate...hmm)

Trade him for a top 6 forward.

Look, I like Brodie, but I don't love him. It's obvious the coach isn't going anywhere so might as well ship out the guys that don't succeed under him.

Simple.
Take him off the PP.
I honestly believe that will solve a lot of the Flames problems.

Put him back on RD. Put Brodano back together.

2 obvious things that need to happen. 2 obvious things the coach will never do.

How will this action help Brodie's play, though? Might it not cause him to lose a lot of confidence?

The longer he gets undeserved ice time the longer he continues to #### us over. It's not entirely Brodie's fault. It's the coaches fault

Its simple, swap Hamilton and Brodie. The two guys that are underperforming. At least!

How GG hasn't yet tried this given the defensive warts this season is beyond me.

Before trading Brodie, I would put him back on the right side, and perhaps also pair him up with Gio again to see if they can muster up their previous chemistry. The defense as a whole is a mess, and I think that's moreso on the coaching rather than the players themselves. It seems obvious to try something new, but GG is keeping stubborn and trying not relenting from his square peg, round hole philosophy.

No. Just simplify his game. Less ice. For the best.
I just think it will help but I'm not the coach

Would you trade him? Keep him? Switch his pairing?
Ha! If you were a lawyer, would you be an ambulance chaser?

He's obliged to fan protests this season after intense complaining before. We just need to keep it up!

I don't buy into the pair him with stone argument, and I don't buy into the pair him back with gio argument either. Gio/Hamilton have been an elite pair this year, you don't break up a pair that's working to spark a player that's struggling, you just open yourself up to the possibility that now you have two pairs that don't work.

I think Brodie is not problem. Just change the GG and his system.

Brodie is being totally overused by a completely incompetent coaching staff.

Switch him off the 1st PP with Dougie and have him play 2nd pairing minutes at even strength, preferably with a different partner and his game will come around.

TJ Brodie can be a very effective #2-3 dman but he's not a #1 guy and certainly not a #1 PP QB guy.

The Flames don’t have a skater like Brodie on the back end who can skate like he does. He’s useful on the powerplay and on most breakouts. Until someone comes in and can replace what he can do, we shouldn’t trade him. I’d rather trade Hamonic before trading Brodie. Hamonic’s limited offensive ability and poor breakouts can be easily replaced. Plus Brodie on the right side looked like a Norris candidate. Maybe that’s something that needs to be addressed before anything else.

Brodie’s off ice family issues likely be affecting him a bit. Then trying too hard sometimes which makes things worse. The effort you continue to see but brain farts are more common then used to seeing.

Hamilton is the one that Treliving should be zeroing in on. The effort isn’t there sometimes, late to his man, a step or two late to the puck. Soft as wool on the puck more often than not. He’s got all the physical ability and talent but seems to have a who cares attitude sometimes, and more times than not this season is floating around out there.

The fact that the Flames have to keep a spot open on the main roster for his brother can lead one to their own conclusions about D. Hamilton’s overall confidence, never mind it also hamstrings the forward unit flexibility.

enough of the crap excuse that it's brodie's d partner dragging him down. look at the last two years. look at that stupid decision tonight to not just let rittch make the easy save, but let's reach all the way back and tip it into our own net. He's absolutely painful to watch. Move him back with Gio. Hamilton has also been horrid and doesn't deserve top line minutes.

The frustrating thing is that Brodie is a great skater, yet go back a few weeks and see how many times he's decided to flop down on the ice to block a play rather then cover a man. Just poor decisions.
