Apparently there is a man trying to get his cats out of the building but is barred from doing so. So sad.

Hopefully the landlord is writing checks out for damage deposits if they're telling people to find new places to live.

A lot of people can't afford damage deposits + one month rent on short notice at Christmas.

From what i'm seeing on reddit, the landlord was cutting cheques last night for the DD + 1/4 month rent + 250. Hopefully GC91 got the same deal.

We got our damage deposits back today, and once they shore up the building we can get our furnishings out. Beyond that we're getting a quarter month's rent back plus $250, but on our own beyond that.

That is the deal. They gave me mine this morning. I will say our landlord is a great guy and I have no hard feelings toward him. He seemed very upset about the whole situation and he has always been an amazing landlord and really cared about the building. The rest of the property management team has not come across as honest about the situation or seem to care a whole lot about the tenants. They have been giving us the run around on the integrity of the building for the past 10 months. They continued to give us notices saying repairs would be made to the building and balconies without anything ever happening. The sudden short notice to vacate the building was a shock to everyone.
