Ya man, this schedule has been rather painful. I suspect it might be why we all have our "panties in a twist". Too much time between games leaves a lot of fretting over the past game, rather than just moving on to the next game.
Looking forward to the "game every 2 days" routine soon.
Should be a good game tonight. Flames hopefully have some confidence going in, and the blues are one of the best teams so far this season. It would be awesome to get 1 or 2 points tonight to build up for the lengthy road trip upcoming.

Home game after a long break against a tough Blues team? Yikes. This is a recipe for disaster. Flames need to be ready to play tonight or things could get out of control fast.
If they come out hard in the 1st: 4-2 Flames
If they come out flat: 6-2 Blues

With Andersson and Bartkowski skating late, looks like Hamonic will return tonight. Should get confirmation from coach shortly. #Flames

It GMG that a ton of us had a nice long holiday weekend, and there were zero Flames games
Hopefully the long break doesn't mean the team comes out flat. St Louis is a hard team to beat and their D has been exceptional this season ,even without Jaybo. Pretty strange to actually see him out injured.
Let's hope the 3rd line can keep gaining momentum!

Honestly, if Hamonic's recovery/return is 50/50, I would just keep him out until it's 100%, not a game time decision. Let him be 100% before he returns and run with the same pairings as last game. Just my opinion.

The depth players can step up anytime now. Took a spin through Corsica Hockey this morning to see how good or bad they have been from an objective view (5v5):
When three of Versteeg, Stajan, Brouwer, Lazar, Bennett, Jankowski, Glass, Hathaway, have been on the ice: -4 goal differential, -6 penalty differential, -22 corsi differential.
All other forward combinations: +7 goal differential, +6 penalty differential, +85 corsi differential.

Travis Hamonic is in tonight.
@Fan960Steinberg
With Hamonic returning, #Flames will have to make an AHL assignment, likely Andersson. Bartkowski, Stajan, F. Hamilton scratched tonight.

Good test to conclude the home stand. This is as good of a lineup we can hope to dress this year:
Quote:
Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Bennett - Jankowski - Jagr
Versteeg - Lazar - Brouwer
Giordano - Hamilton
Brodie - Hamonic
Kulak - Stone
Smith
|
A loss won't be a cause for concern IMO, but a weak effort against one of the top teams in the league would be. Hope they come out flying tonight and can pick up at least a point, hopefully two.

Kulak is really turning into a good defenseman.

Great looking lineup tonight. Everyone should be firing after the home break.

Interesting to see what the Blues looks like, as I'm as surprised as others by their good start.

Andersson officially sent down. Good showing on limited time. Must be difficult trying to get onto the roster lined up behind 3 established NHL players but I fully expect him to have more dates with the team later this season

Hopefully Smith is prepared for this one. He has had a few games where he has played "human".. will need him tonight big time

Would love to keep eating crow on Kulak, very impressed since he's gotten his chance on the 3rd pairing. Also nice to know Andersson can step in when needed

I'm totally fine if he can average a % of .915 or above for the season. Anything more than that is gravy

.915 probably won't be considered nearly as average as it has in years past. Remember all the extra "shots" getting counted this year. .920-.925 is what I expect to be acceptable this year. .930 is what I'm hoping for.
