I thought the Flames played a pretty good game tonight. Lack lost his net on the third goal and it looks like that cost us the game.

I'm content, if not ecstatic about 5-5 start. After the tire fires of the last few seasons it's a small consolation.

PK needs work though. We were top 5 two days ago. I don't even want to look where we are now.

Because Brouwer got absolutely thumped off of the puck at that point and the Blues got control. I don't know, that's all I got for that one.

I have no issues with Stajan getting limited minutes but when you absolutely need a goal why is he out there? That's straight up terrible coaching.

1 point better than last year after 10 games, they have better goaltending and they broke the Anaheim curse.

I will take that!

Our gm has signed Jagr and has now brought in jankowski.

You'd have to think he let's things run their course for a few weeks before other changes.

However, at some point there will be changes. I think it will be a shorter leash than in years past

All Rittich does is put up great starts in the A. Don't know why we had to reach out and make a trade that just created a logjam in the pipeline in goal and was lateral at the very best.

Played well for the most part, especially 5 on 5.

Need to cash in on a couple of those huge chances in the 2nd. Gaudreau's breakaway, and Tkachuk with back to back close chances on odd man rushes.

Lack was OK, a couple HUGE saves but also lost his net on 2 of the goals I thought.

Frustrated by the calls. The Flames get a lot of the subtle stickwork and were getting worked over tonight with no calls. I just want consistency.

Flames deserved better. One of their best games of the season and it was spoiled by garbage goaltending by Lack.

It's no wonder Carolina wanted to fix his positioning. The far side is completely open and he loses his net constantly and has no rebound control.

They didn't play bad but special teams let them down. Having two 4th liners on your top PP unit is never a good idea. That's just poor coaching if you ask me (and no, GG shouldn't be fired but this still infuriates me).

At some point shouldn't our coach give Bennett the same lineages for an extended stretch to try and develop chemistry?

And without one of those being Brouwer?

Let this 3rd line rock and roll for a month or two and se what happens

I'm so sick of Gulutzan's stubbornness with rolling 4 lines. We've got a grand total of 0 goals from our bottom 6, and from 3:00 left to 1:00 left Monahan, Ferland, Tkachuk, Backlund, and Frolik didn't touch the ice - only Gaudreau got a shift with Stajan and Brouwer, which he spent back-checking after Brouwer turned it over.

He needs AHL time badly. He is still young and could still carve himself out a Matthew Lombardi type prime but right now he is the definition of all tools and no toolbox.

Anyways could they please do something to get the bottom six going? Open up the damn offense... some cross-ice passing, get defensemen to jump the slot, split up Gaudreau and Monahan... anything.

We are having real problems this year getting pucks to the net. With Brodie, Hamilton, Gio, and Stone back there, I’m a little Baffled as to the amount of times we are getting shots from the D blocked.

I don't think they deserved better. 1 goal against came off a bad giveaway and the other 2 were the result of poor penalties. You make your own breaks. A game full of teachable moments.

How many, realistically, does Smith let in tonight?

He looked really tired tonight and for someone who doesn't play that much it's really concerning. He was out of breath and not skating 10 seconds in his shifts and couldn't keep up.

It's so disappointing just how much both Brouwer AND Versteeg's game have deteriorated this year.

Both guys are nothing more than glorified 4th liners at this point.

Scheduling loss is how it stacked up before the game. Then they lose the special teams part of the game again. Plus the offfense continues to struggle. Last time I looked there were like maybe four teams with worst GF percentage in the league. The O has to get rolling which these days means the PP has to contribute.
