Yeah, and on a pretty bad team, like Smith. I think he's better than Lack.

Strange moves by Vegas. I don't really get it.

Agree with it or not, but Duha was on the radio and explained that GMGM had a pretty clear plan that he has executed.
It was this; All he was concerned about was setting the team up to be good sooner rather than later, but not necessarily right away.
What GM has done is combined 3 drafts into one this past draft when he had 3 1st rounders, 2 2nds and an early 3rd. He figures by doing it this way it will accelerate the draft and develop process and make Vegas relevant within a few years. Playing the long game but getting to it in the shortest possible timeline.
Now you are seeing him upgrading what he has on hand moving forward. The move to claim Subban is just that in his mind.
Going to be interesting to see if it pays off for him or he doesn't last long enough to see it through. Losing gets old fast and particularly in a new market with very little hockey culture.

He said he has a 9.04 save percentage. That means he saves 9.04% of the shots he faces. If he faces 100 shots, and saves 9.04% of them, he lets in about 91 of them, and stops about 9 of them. That's just math.
It was more me pointing out that he needs to display it either as 90.4%, or .904. 9.04 is wrong. I was having a little math fun.

Varlamov over Picard was an automatic choice. Colorado gave up big assets to acquire Varlamov, and Varlamov played very well as the starter every year but last year. Pickard is still a backup, and abandoning Varlamov would have been a huge gamble and required Colorado to admit they were wrong about Varlamov.
I do admit that this Subban move is baffling though. I don't pretend to know why the LVK management is making many of the moves that they are though. A lot of them seem baffling to me. Their goals should be pretty simple: acquire as many prospects/picks as possible to build for the future and put some exciting vets on the ice to attract fans. However, they seem to be randomly picking up and dropping players all over the place. Their ability to make proper trades is non-existent.

That’s brutal on my part hahahahaha - gonna leave it.
9.04 is Hiller’s first shot of the game save percentage lol

Maybe Edmonton has an interest. Pickard would be an upgrade over Brossoit and be able to give Talbot a breather.

I wonder about Anaheim. I saw Miller is on IR, not sure how serious that is supposed to be though.

You're so wrong, Squiggs. We use the .xxx notation for save percentage, and this is clearly meant to be 9.040. So, for every 100 shots Pickard faces, he saves 904!

All I can get

I wanted the Flames to trade for him once it became apparent he would be unprotected in the expansion draft. Thought he'd make a good backup, moveable if one of the Stockton kids was ready for The Show. Subban was another young-ish goalie I had my eye on.
It's a lot harder to move Eddie Lack now, though.

I can't tell if he's any good. The avalanche years look decent. The ahl numbers are not stellar. Then the world championship numbers are off the charts.
