Based on his shooting percentage and really poor possession numbers, Anderson was extremely lucky last season and any significant investment made for him will likely be a poor move. 103.2 PDO, too. This would be like trading for Bouma after his one good season with the Flames.

Would be a solid pick up for the right price.

Lazar has been with the Flames for 6 months and you already call it a bad move? Remember how many people said Backlund was a bad prospect who would be an NHL tweener?

Treliving's "bad moves": Raymond, Bollig, Brouwer and with your list of Lazar and Shinkaruk...
Treliving's good moves: Hamilton and Hamonic acquisitions (and more solid moves but these two trades alone already say enough about him).
The good outweighs the little baby bad ones by a large margin.

Anderson is a tough kid, having him and Ferland, Tkachuk and Bennett on the team would be killer for the playoffs.
In the Summer I pondered about a Jankowski deal for him. The Jackets are desperate again for a big centre after trading Johansen. I'm not sure I'd do that. Jankowski is a tantalizing prospect, highly skilled and that big and a centre. I've been really impressed with his shot this pre-season, he's scored a couple of lazers. But other than Jankowski, I don't see what else Columbus would be interested in.

We need a top end RW, not more 3rd liner/2nd liner tweeners. Not interested with the likely cost involved.

Yes and Raymond was a relatively cheap free agent signing, Bollig cost a 3rd; both were not high asset costs. Brouwer may be the worst move Tre has made as it has a big asset cost, but there's still a chance that can turn around, though i'm not holding my breath for that to happen.
The Lazar and Shinkaruk deals are fine. Lazar for a 2nd was fair value given the potential of both assets. Flames were going to lose Granlund anyways cause Hartley didn't know how to use him properly.

Yeah, I really like him. He's like Columbus' Ferland. Big boy that flashes the ability to be special at times. He has that combination of skill and toughness that makes him more valuable to the team he plays for than on the open market.

Anderson is basically another Lance Bouma.
Waste of an acquisition.

He is another Ferland. We would be smart to try and acquire him if the trade is reasonable and his demands fit our cost structure.

Incorrect,
Ferland was a beast in Junior and a solid player afterwards and still is.
Anderson is almost an identical version of Lance Bouma and will follow that career path.

Oh well if the stats from junior say it then it must be true
Anderson made world juniors so he was a very good junior player who has only gotten better.

Anderson is a bottom 6 forward. Don't see the point on acquiring him unless they move Lazar/Brouwer in a deal to get him.

Love how all these Josh Anderson "experts" have come out of the woodwork to tell us exactly how limited this young player's upside is. Somehow I'm not sure they're as expert on Anderson as they think they are.
