Wasn't there a guy on here who got a McGrattan tattoo on his leg or something? This is great news and I'm a fan of Big Ern. Someone needs to send him a picture of that.

Great job Flames in a otherwise dismal week. I salute you.

Not just a good hire, but a wise one.

Great hire. Who knows, in his spare time he might even make the mayor an offer he can't refuse.

So anything bad is Ken's fault, anything good is someone else's doing?
Just making sure I have it right.

Don't forget Ferland, who was also able to help Poirier because of how McGrattan helped him.
Great hire by the organization. We always think of development with on-ice skills, fitness and direct hockey related stuff, but there are much more to deal with when players are making the transition we either forget about or don't like to think about. Big Ern has helped with this already, good to see the organization taking care o the guy who helped take care of others in multiple ways.

Was about to post about Ferland as well.
With a lot of players seemingly to have addiction issues, etc... (understandable, young millionaires away from home), this is a very smart hire.

Great to see! Flames always do a good job of adding high character guys like Connie and now Big Ern.

I hope they put him on the bench too. With him there, they might not even need a Gazdic or Glass in the line up. The McGrattan death stare alone might make the likes of Kassian and Lucic think twice about taking liberties on the flames skill players.

Yasss. I was hoping the Flames would make a role for him in this capacity. These kids are coming in young with enormous pressure on their shoulders and are just figuring out how to be an adult, let alone a successful professional. I think more teams are going to be investing in this kind of role.
