Same problem! I have ZERO idea where they are coming in from. Can they come down the chimney at all? I have never used the fireplace in the 12 years i have lived in this house. They do seem to be all tuckered out once they get in the house making it easy to destroy them.

Looks to me one is coke, and one is sprite. I personally think any sugary drink will work. Last time I was stung by a wasp was when I was a teenager at a bbq. The wasp was sitting on top of my can of Coke and I took a chug of the drink without looking and got stung in the face. I learned the hard way wasps love soda pop.

Key with those pop bottle traps is to put a little extra in the mix to make it more lethal to the little terrors. A shot or two of a sweeter hard alcohol like rum is the ticket.

and if it doesn't attract any wasps you have a nice, refreshing summer beverage already on your patio - just add ice!

If you're finding them at your front door, under your steps is a common place. We have one of those basic stone slab steps at our back door and had a nest behind it essentially under the house. I sealed the bottom and back with the wasp foam and haven't seen one since

If you have plastic siding that might also be a spot they'd go. Just this weekend we all of a sudden had a huge spider web all around our front door. I power washed the walls 3 weeks ago and didn't notice that I had knocked the panel above our door loose, and apparently a family of giant spiders made it their home. I sprayed raid under the loose panel and 20-30 spiders slowly started dropping out. I took the siding off, sprayed way more raid then necessary, and put it back up properly. My wife's convinced the walls are full of spiders now so we may be going the "burn it down" route if we find anymore

I have this bug zapper and it works well. It's 4000V. It kills wasps the instant they touch the racket. And it's fun to use. This is the most powerful one available, the cheaper ones at Canadian Tire just annoy wasps. https://www.amazon.com/WARRIOR-SUPRE.../dp/B008WTO8KY

Speaking of wasps, one was in my beercan earlier today, and I never noticed, so when I took a drink it stung me in mouth a bunch. Damn little buggers.

I've done well this summer keeping them out of our yard, but I think one of the neighbours has a nest. We had a backyard party on Sunday and there were wasps everywhere!!! We had to move the sangria inside. Damn neighbours.

Have a nest under our deck right next to the house and trying to avoid any board or panel removal as the deck is trex and the panel has steps attached to it.

Anyone have a better solution than One Shot as that isn't really feasible to hit the nest. Drione dust is impossible to acquire in Canada apparently.

Caught about a 100 in a night using this:

This thread scares the crap out of me!

I had a wasp issue a few summers ago. They were getting into our gas fireplace box outside above the deck. Had someone come in and spray some fumes to kill them off, as we were scared they'd end up in the house due to our little ones being slow and causing the patio door to remain open longer than needed.

Out at the lake, only place landscapers wont mow, is the hill behind the cottage.
So the grass gets super tall, and I mowed a nest beside a fallen log. I got stung like 10 times by the lil bastards.

I can only wish I had one of those rackets, ordering one now.

This will be me next summer.

Had an exterminator out to take care of a nest that was under our siding at the back of our home- getting in through a small hole in a corner. Everything seemed to be fine after he did his thing, but the bastards are now showing up in our kitchen. Im guessing that some of the nest is still there and the only way out for them is to maneuver through our home between floors until they find their way into the kitchen. The only entry point I can think of into our kitchen is the hood fan. Regardless, I hate these freakin things.

Good. Maybe those wasps were City fans...
