Balboa Park is pretty cool. Had one of the best lunches in my life (food and setting) at the Prado restaurant on the grounds.

La Jolla is beautiful. The Cottage has excellent brunches. Cody's is a good lunch or dinner option, overlooking the park and good for people watching.

Please tell me you went to that disgusting 'rippers place next to the airport. I feared for my life there, and that before we got out of the Uber.

Yes so long as you are into the woo hoo crowd and don't mind second hand weed. Really depends on the type of crowd you're looking for.

San Diego and area are really great. It does seem like a great place to live. We'll probably have to make another trip down there later this year. The La Jolla area is really cool. We hung out on the beach with the seals for an hour after sunset one night watching them play and fight. We'll probably have to do SeaWorld and the zoo next time.

The SAN airport is a bit of a dump though. They had some TVs in the gate areas showing some football games but they were either using an internet tv source or were streaming the games and the lag was brutal. It would show 3 or 4 seconds of action and then freeze for about 10 seconds. Luckily the Airspace Lounge had complimentary access for Amex Platinum card holders and we hung out in there before our flight and had some beer and food.
