obviously more than what calgary was offering.
i think Calgary probably offered 2, but it wasn't all about the money for sharp...it was to reunite with his former team mates and make a run a the cup in the twilight of his career.

Damn. Even at double that money he could be a steal. Too bad Calgary couldn't win him

Wow, what a steal! I guess there are still some players that are not greedy with the money. I am sure Calgary offered him double or maybe more than Chicago signed him for but he chose a team where he's comfortable with. Sharp(Chicago) and Versteeg(Calgary) used their heart to sign with the team they really like. Hats off to these guys.

About $47M earnings, almost all over the last 9 years. On the one hand, it's nothing to sneeze at, but he's got another 50 years of living ahead of him. Don't know if I could forego a guaranteed additional $3M if I already had 3 rings. Then again, maybe he's betting on himself for next year, and/or setting himself up for a position within the organization post-retirement.
I would have also wanted an NMC on such a discount contract - it would be nice to have some control of your deadline destination if the Hawks are really in decline.

groan... I wish the hawks would suffer more for the cap hell they created for themselves.

He can submit his resume to concession services like everybody else.
No special treatment for Yak.
Plus I would want a show me deal for him to run the pocket dog stand, I hate waiting in line when guys have trouble making my dog.

Posts on Instagram suggest there was something between him and Keith's wife. Any truth to these rumors? If yes, why would Blackhawks want him back?

The cap he'll really had to do with having too many top end players.
All top teams eventually have cap problems.
