Habs fans sure hope so, that a guy with 13 points and -7.5%CFRel still looks hot without his ten most common linemates:

Holtby
Carlson
Backstrom
Niskanen
Ovechkin
Johansen
Oshie
Kuznetsov
Williams
Grubauer

Less money than I expected he would fetch but I believe he's a very average defensman.

$4.5 for Alzner is much better than $6mill for Markov and a certain upgrade over emelin. I'm guessing the term though which is kind of scary is what lowered the price.

Wow i am surprised about the deal .its a great one for the Habs.i really thought Karl would get more. I really thought there would be a bidding war for him and some team would give him 6+7 million or a 4 + 5 year deal .well played Montreal.i think he will do great there

Stephen Whyno @SWhyno
Alzner couldn't overlook #Caps playoff failures: "I want to win. ... It was frustrating to keep getting stumped in the second round."

Not sure how going to Habs solves that Karl.

This actually isn't a bad deal. He's what the Habs needed

LOL. I'm not sure what's worse about this, the implication that his team was somehow holding him back from greater things, or the part where he's basically saying "Yeah, it's really frustrating to lose to the eventual cup champions every year. So instead I'll go to a worse team and never make it that far in the first place."

Problem solved, Karl. Problem solved.
