There's always kids hanging out playing ball and lots of times I've seen arguments and a couple of times some fist fights break out which is normal for most kids I'd say - too bad it's escalated to shootings.

This is what I was trying to get across. Just because a bunch of kids that are a different ethnicity than you are hanging out doesn't mean they are shady. Bad guys come in all sorts of colours, including white. I guess I should have used green text. I'm glad that it happened after hours and none of my co-workers were hurt.

Wasn't trying to make this a race debate. If you been there you would know what I mean by shady. I brought my puppy there one time and walk him around the field while my kids where doing their swimming lessons. One kid told me if I brought my puppy by again he was gonna take him from me.

I know exactly what you mean. My mother in law used to live two blocks from there and the kids that play in that area definitely are shady. No, not just because they're mostly black and indian, but because of the way they act.

I've lived in the area for 30 years and the kids don't act shady at all, what does that even mean? What do they do that seem shady to you? And they're not mostly black and natives in that area, tonnes of white kids also.
The kids that play at that court are mostly black and I pass that court every day. They have never struck me as being shady. Not even one bit. Regular teenagers playing basketball.

I'm sure they are mostly good kids. The fact is three kids got shot and one is dead. There are definitely some shady things happening. I've been to a basketball court a lot. People don't just get shot.

I don't disagree, but ToewsFan vouching for you probably isn't the best recommendation - Calgaryblood, do you disavow?

Curious -- can I ask why?

This area is served by two recreational pools. The Bob Bahan Aquatic and Fitness Centre, opened October 1974 and named after a community member of outstanding record, offers a number of registered and drop-in fitness classes, programs and lessons, both in the pool and on dry land.

Cause if you live or lived around there, you pronounce it Bobahan not Bob Bahan.

it would be interesting to understand if the shooters followed this guy for a while before they shot him. Or was there a phone call to say this guy was playing ball at this court on Friday.
I guess what bothers me the most about these types of brazen shootings in public is that there are others around who get to witness the shooting and potentially be exposed to any crossfire.
Of course there is also the escalation factor as this guy may have been involved in a knife incident which evolved now to a gun incident
