I hate Kesler more than life itself...and I'd easily say I'd rather watch him raise it. Not even a question for me. No more orange around town, or drunken chirpy texts from Edmonton friends

Interesting that the OP seems to think there are only two possibilities.
Backlunds_socks, my poppet, my pigsnie, my dearest delectable troll, a small matter has evidently eluded your notice, and I regret that I must be the one to bear this bad news to you. It is 2017, not 1967; you no longer win the Stanley Cup by getting through two rounds of playoffs. I know that as an Edmonton fan, you have been removed from the reality of playoff hockey for many years, and I do not blame you for forgetting how it works. But it would really be better of you to take a refresher course on the NHL postseason format before engaging the beak.

I'll take the Ducks advancing to the finals and then losing in triple over-time in Game 7 to whoever makes it out of the east.
I don't want bad things to happen to Ryan Kesler. I just want him to come to oh so close to the verge of good things for his entire life only to come in a close and respectable second place. Every time.
Forever a Silver Medalist.

I would rather watch Kesler hoist the Stanley Cup 100 years in a row than watch the oilers win it once.
How is this even a question?

How has anyone entertained it by conceding a legitimate answer?
It's a repulsive notion in either case. Yes, obviously one more so than the other, but it's a question that should be out-right rejected. Not entertained / answered seriously.

Exactly.
The worst part is hearing those hosts on the radio (Virgin, Amp, etc.) talking about how "almost all" flames fans are getting behind the oilers because that's how much we hate the ducks and then start getting all hyped about the oilers playoff run. Um, no. Stick to music you goofs, lay off the sports talk.

Seriously: this is a question worth answering?
Reality check: Where do we live? Do we have any nearby, spoiled-brat, detested and disgusting rivals that the Canadian media fan bois fall all over themselves talking about?

As a life long flames fan this question feels like I'm being asked whether I'd rather be blind or deaf.
Blind being Kesler winning and deaf being the Oilers winning.
I choose Kesler winning. Atleast if I'm deaf I don't have to listen to the insufferable oilers fans talk about **ANYTHING OILER RELATED** for the next lifetime....
A decade of being a laughing stock and then one hell of a gift from the hockey gods really changes things...I now understand how flyers fans feel.

No one will remember who Kessler is in 10 years.
We KNOW the Oiler fans never forget ancient victories

I would take the Oilers moving forward, as long as they get eliminated in embarrassing fashion in the conference finals. #### both of these teams.

Thread says "move forwards", which I interpreted to mean advance to the next round. In this scenario, it opens the possibility that neither the Ducks or Oilers win the cup. Sounds alright to me.

Kesler hoist. Never would I ever want to see Edmonton win another game, nevermind advance.
