Awesome. Hopefully Vegas will take Brouwer. Now they have, "The Ship & Anchor". Like a familiar pub downtown, we know at least one of them is really drunk.

Adding 23 players to the NHL is not going to cause a reinvention of the trap. Particularly given the trap requires skill to execute, and diluting the talent pool spreads the skill out.

Executing the trap requires less skill than scoring buckets of goals. This is why expansion teams used it the last time around. They chose the tactics that gave them the best chance of winning with the skill level that they had.

It usually takes ~ 30 players to get through an NHL season and I don't think the NHL is going to stop at 31 teams.

And sure the trap takes skill to execute, but it takes less skill. That is why teams used it during the last round of expansion.

When every third liner becomes a top 6, and every bottom pairing D becomes top 4 it is going to change how the game is played.

Probably a pretty good idea. Could build a decent team by poaching the best players from the KHL and European leagues.

Definitely. Would solve the lacking of top 6 skill problem they are likely to have.

Now that they have Shipachyov, I wonder if Kovalchuk would expand his list to include Vegas. I'm sure NJ would rather he head out West anyways.

They should also go after Dadanov (if they haven't already).

That'd be 3 of the top 4 scorers from the KHL team that won the championship IIRC. The same one Datsyuk went to.

They could also go hard after Radulov as well.

Load up the top 6 with highly skilled Russians.

I was in Vegas when the Flames were eliminated. This resulted in me buying a bunch of Knights gear. I'm back to normal now.

			Europeans love Las Vegas
Could be the first sign that having a team in a -- let's say unique -- environment will help with FA signings. No income tax always helps too.

			Shipachyov is a Centre.
 -1 for Stajan
 +1 for Brouwer

Brouwer is also quite good at faceoffs, if Shipachyov needs a mentor / someone to take important draws on his line.

George McPhee must have a good reputation with Russian players. Didn't he convince Kuznetsov to come over after he was rumored to have no real interest in the NHL?
