Dog Experts-What breed of dog is this?

They are like a cat. Much of their day spent grooming and always clean. Exception is when camping we let her run and fresh cow patties around she loves to bath in them and come back with a smile.

I love the way it looks, but since my wife has zero interest in having a dog it's probably a bad idea to choose such a prick/difficult breed.

I was looking online and the stories about this breed are amazing. One guy says his Shiba Inu just decided to be afraid of socks for a month.

Another says his one day started to sleep on its back on top of the sofa. Like a cat would do. A lot of people compare them to cats.

It's worth mentioning that there is always some individual variation.

A friend of mine has an Argentine Dogo that behaves more like a lab. It is way more friendly and submissive than most Dogos. The breeder he got it from wants him to consider breeding it for that reason in fact because there is a movement to try and breed out some of the aggression the breed is often associated with.

Some but not much. Dog breeds get their reputation for a reason. Just like Goldens are great family dogs there is the odd one that doesn't get the genetic memo.
Shibas I have seen are like mentioned before, ignorant dogs with terrible recall. You might get the one that missed the genetic memo but that chances are pretty slim.

Barkless dog they said. Doesn't shed they said. Great apartment dog they said. It's a wild dog and stone cold killer of small animals, furniture, carpet, anything stuffed, etc. and the main purpose in his life is to do exactly the opposite of what you want him to. I love the little guy but he drives me crazy! More work than a kid lol.

Shibas I have met have been pretty psycho aggressive if they have a ball stick or anything like that. For that reason I can't imagine them as a good family dog. Thinking if a kid tried to reach in and take a toy.
