Philip DeFranco is forming an independent news network

I'm surprised at all the PhillyD hate. He's one of the first YouTubers I ever got into. I never miss my PDS.

I suppose I'm just used to the jump cuts by now because it doesn't really bother me.

I don't watch, but I hear my wife watching him quite a bit. He's got good points on most subjects he covers I find, and good for him on calling out Daddyofive (no idea if other people were already? Sounds like he got some momentum on them though) for the crap they did.

A lot of hate on here for more or less no reason beyond "he's annoying".

If you don't like him, that's fine.

Philip DeFranco is, as mentioned by a couple other posters, one of the most universally liked YouTube personalities and does a ton of good work.

He built from the ground up a large and successful company, launched a bunch of careers with SourceFed. Signed in 2012/2013 with Revision3 which is a subsidiary of Discovery Digital Networks.

Now he is buying back his properties (I believe sans SourceFed which was cancelled a couple months ago mysteriously), and launching an independent news network.

I'm not saying it will be the best thing ever done but I think in this day and age when the vast majority of news outlets are owned by a couple billionaires, it can't hurt to have someone else out there informing people independently.

As I said originally, I'm intrigued to watch this develop.
