Haha what a dumb decision. The Canucks roster is terrible and he still somehow made them a little respectable. They should have been Colorado level embarassing.

At his age and health I have no idea why he would consider taking on the worst roster in the league. It's a job better spent on a rookie head coach that can be fired after a few years and drafts.

This is what happens when any time your boss says, "do this." And your response is "MORE MEGNA!" each time.

Good coach. Bad coach for a young team that still needs to learn and grow.

The right choice is Travis Green. Expect Aqualad to demand a big name coach (like he did with Torts) and tie Benning's hands while Travis goes elsewhere to get his first NHL gig.

Or this is what happens when you coach a team that with injuries to allstars like Dorsett and Gaunce result in Megna being up for an entire season. Willie didn't help his own situation and needed to be fired but he isn't the root cause of the issue. And quite frankly he was correct in not wanting to play Virtanen and McCann for instance. The youth still has to be able to actually play the game at the required level.

When you're getting goal tending like this, I find it really hard to blame the coach for your team being terrible.

He should've been fired when he demonstrated that he didn't understand how to use last change in the Calgary series. If anyone wants to see comedy, check out the Canucks' shift charts from that series. 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4 and so on.

The goaltending this year is about the only thing that even kept the fight for 29th interesting. With bad goaltending they would've been challenging Colorado for 30th.

The twins are on for 1 more year, is the team going to just let their contracts expire after next season or try to trade them to a contender? Can they even be traded separately?

When he had Virtanen and McCann he was not specifically cited in the media by his boss as "being told to play the young guys and being on board with it."

This season that happened and his response was to bench and scratch said younger players and play more and more Jayson Megna. He outright did the opposite of what was asked of him and was fired for it.
