I mean, I don't see it myself. Not with our powerplay especially, but it is certainly nice to see people outside Calgary seeing positive things out of us.
Not with our powerplay especially?

You mean a top 10 powerplay in the league? You mean what I'm assuming is a top 5 powerplay in the 2nd half the season? 2 of the top 10 power plays in the league missed the playoffs (BUF and TB) so we actually have the 8th best powerplay of the remaining teams and that's including our horrid stretch at the beginning of the season.

Seems like the powerplay is a reason to believe we might go far. Not a reason to doubt their ability to go far. Am I off base on this one?

Our top end forwards aren't there yet to contend without Elliot being '04 Kipper good.

Our best player was 30th in PPG (out of players who played more than 20 games). The next player is 69th.

^Not this year, but we know Gaudreau and Monahan are capable of being very high on PPG charts. But we will need those guys to really step it up. The Ducks' depleted defence might be a big help there.

I've just not seen a great deal out of our special teams in the last number of games that leaves me confident that it is a 20% powerplay. It's really come down off that ridiculous run that pulled us high, and there are no Winnipegs or Colorados to beat up on anymore to keep the percentage looking good. Especially on the road, where we need to actually win a game. Though we did have that 2-4 night against the Ducks in the Dome to end our home season.
