You can bet if we play the Ducks they will target Gio. Frankly, it looked totally accidental. But the craptastic Ducks will use it for motivation to try and take him out. That is when we turn the other cheek and not get pulled into their game. The Ritchie sucker punch just shows how the Ducks think they can win. The big barnyard bully beating up on the little kids and crying foul when something bad happens to them. Sorry for Fowler but not one iota sorry for the team he plays for.

ridiculous.

Gio has been a stand up guy his entire career... the hit and subsequent injury are unfortunate no question...

but Gio is hardly a "dirty" player...

Bob Murray can go pound sand. Calling Gio dirty, get a grip on reality bud!

Ducks have a glorious history of whining blowhards named B. Murray.

He was probably referencing this.

The latest one looked much cleaner than the Ryan knee.

I agree. Honestly the latest one didn't even look remotely dirty to me. It just looked like Gio timed his hit wrong.

Bob Murray is a clown.

that one looked much worse that the Fowler one... where gio came in from the side...didn't seem to be intentional, whereas the one above you could make that argument

in watching gio all these years, i wouldn't call him a dirty player at all... hell, i don't even think i'd say he's a guy that plays "with an edge"...

Don't care if the Flames play the Ducks or not.

This is a shame as a great player got hurt. The heart and soul of their blue line.

If the Flames do end up playing the Ducks I would have liked to see the Flames beat their best.

By no means is Gio a dirty player. I'll give their GM a pass on this one, as he is likely frustrated and feeling some pressure for his teams failures in the playoffs.

Yeah he's not, but every player who is a little physical is going to have a couple of iffy moments in his career.

But the fact that he did something to a Ducks player before has him immortalized in Anaheim as a dirty SOB. That's just how sports works.

The Ducks will go after Giordano if the Flames meet them in the playoffs and a game or the series is a write off.

My hatred for the Ducks has really gone up a couple notches over the past week. They are bearing Oilers level of hatred

As far as Murray goes, he can bleat all he wants, but the bottom line is that he's built one of the dirtier teams in the league, so frankly as the old saying goes, live by the sword and hopefully you die by the sword.
Yes!!!!!

Someone make 20,000 red T-shirts that say this, it can be the first round slogan!!

It can even have a duck on a spit or something. The spit is a sword. With a flaming C as the fire underneath!

Or not...

Not to derail this thread, but since posters have mentioned the Ritchie sucker punch from last night...

NHL Player Safety ✔ @NHLPlayerSafety
Anaheim’s Nick Ritchie will have a hearing this afternoon for roughing/sucker punch on Chicago’s Michal Rozsival.
