I've had my car flags up for a few weeks and am finally starting to notice more and more. Even saw some in Red Deer today.

It's coming. Slowly building momentum now but once the playoffs actually start it'll blow up

The Ken King stuff was ill-timed, I must say.

What a stupid moment to go out and push that agenda. After playoffs would've been smarter. Now you might alienate a certain crowd before playoffs even begin.

I'm excited. Does that count?

Excitement for the playoffs will probably begin with the playoffs beginning. We shouldn't be excited just to make the playoffs, we should be excited to see what we can do in the playoffs.

This thread is annoyingly obtuse

Reminds me I have to stock up on Flames flags, I usually lose 2-4...2015 lost 2 somewhere in Ontario, 1 in Red Deer and 1 in Okotoks... I can't find the others that I had. Where should one look to buy them this year?

I live in Edmonton and I've barely seen any Oilers car flags or excitement. So, probably, most hockey fans around the league are just waiting for the playoffs to start before they get 'playoffs crazy'

Here in victoria I've seen way more flames apperal in the last 2-3 months than I've ever seen.Take that as you will but the true fan base of this team is very excited for the playoffs no matter who they play.

In a similar vein, someone a couple blocks down from my place has an Oilers flag that they leave on their car 24/7 lately. Saw it parked in the middle of the night like that the other night. I've had Flames ones snapped off my car when I was in college in Edmonton until I finally learned to remove it from my vehicle every night, I'm feeling like this person needs to learn the same lesson. Especially this year, with the rivalry starting to come back.

Driving around with it all day is one thing, but just leaving it on your car permanently day and night in enemy territory heading into the playoffs? That's borderline taunting someone to do it, I keep hoping one of their immediate neighbours will. So many little punks in my neighbourhood roaming around at night under the influence too, not one of them is a Flames fan??

Tell that to the people who kept doing it to me in Mulletville until I finally got wise 😢. And I didn't say I was going to do it. I'm just not adverse to one of the many hooligans of the night in my area doing it..

I used to turn the flags of all my Oiler buddies upside down. Not one that I am aware of noticed.
I was pleased with this.

I thought car flags were more or less a playoff thing? I have started seeing more of them popping up in the last few days though, so maybe I'll throw mine on this week. I was in Revelstoke last week for work and saw 2 cars (BC plates) with Flames flags out there, and someone has decorated a big log beside the Trans-Canada highway near Three Valley with a Flames scarf, toque, and flag!
