By 2030 there will be violent bloody revolution when the proletariat gets tired of being screwed by those bourgeoisie 1% bastards.

Canada's real estate market will continue to slide in 2017 with increased regulations to stop the population from entering the market when they can't afford it. Vancouver sees the biggest drop in the country. The biggest drops however don't happen until 2018.
2017 ends with Pence as the US president.
Interest rates rise and over-leveraged Canadians feel the pinch.
Another major conflict in the middle east. Americans surprisingly are mostly outside observers.
Canadians continue to pay exorbitant amounts for TV, internet and cellular phone service compared to the rest of the world. Canadian telcos continue to struggle with layoffs continuing across the big 3.

The race to A.I will finally be concluded.
It'll have a personality that many would consider passive and good-natured. Rival nations will ultimately create their own AI shortly thereafter. The second A.I will be created but it'll be mostly bitter and ill-tempered like a spoiled little brother.
People will begin to worship each A.I as they are able to bestow great rewards to those who appease them the most. And since the A.I has no need of material things, they become fixated on truly original and unique content. This will usher in the era unparalleled artistic and scientific achievement that will be known as "The RenaiZZance".
Yup.
Book it.

One way or another, Trump won't serve a full four-year term as President.

That by 2060, Japan will be uninhabitable and most of the pacific ocean will be dead.

I'm going the other way. He'll be around for 8, and even though the US will be in a much worse situation in 4 years, he will still win.

I don't think anyone is actually being honest about how bad the Fukushima nuclear disaster was/is. Since said incident childhood cancer rates in Japan have risen over 400%. Not to mention the reactor is still leaking into the ocean with no way of stopping it.

Next 5 years: Interest rates rise; Canada sees its own Trump-lite populist movement as commodity prices and incomes stay depressed; Trump resigns, citing health reasons; European politics in turmoil as anti-immigration sentiment increases.
20 years: Universal income adopted in many Western countries; depression among seniors becomes widespread, leading to socially-sanctioned elderly suicide; democracy transformed by voter algorithms and direct democracy; Crisper-enabled gene splicing becomes commercialised; virtually reality improves to the level where many people spend almost all of their time in it.
50 years: Nanotechnology ushers in a post-scarcity world.

It would take a lot more than one leaky nuclear reactor to kill most of an ocean.

CRISPR technology makes amazing and enormous advances in the medical field. Humanity mostly uses the technology for breast and penis enlargement.

Just to do a more minor, random one: at some point in the next century, denim pants will eventually fall out of style. And after they do, people studying us in the future are going to think it was the weirdest, more uncomfortable material to make fashionable pants out of.
In terms of popular fashion, it really does come out of nowhere in the 60s. It's going to look almost as weird to people studying us as frilly renaissance pants look to us today.

Are you kidding? Jeans are the most comfortable pants you can wear outside your house. Note, Edmonton, I said outside your house. We all know sweats reign supreme as indoor comfy pants.

I've always found them very constrictive when sitting down in them. It's the last thing I'd want to be wearing in the car on a road trip, put it that way. It's just more about how different they look compared to what fashion has dictated over the last 800 years or so, they come out of nowhere. It's material from ship's sails. I just think once they do go out of style, they're going to look hilarious to future gens.
Haha don't ask me where that thought originated from..probably one of my many late night insomnia fests
