Close game it really could have gone either way but they got suckered into some bad penalties and ran into a pretty good game by their goalie

They weren't pushed around at all. It was a physical game, and the Flames got their share of hits and smacks in there.
They lost a close game. I have no problem with how they played.
(I still want Giordano and Brodie back together. Loss of Hamilton tonight was palpable, as the team already wants for a strong D to round out the top 4)

Frustrated with the amount of penalties this team has been taking lately.
Ducks scoring on the PP was the difference tonight.

I thought the flames did fine. Bennett has to score on that 2-0 and he should have covered for wideman's pinch. Young guy, 2 oops plays I hope he learns from. Not that it's all on him.
Why, oh why doesn't someone put their stick through Keslers teeth.
Hope tkachuk is watching. The bigger weasel you are, the more the league will protect you.

That was frustrating. If the Flames convert at least 1 PP goal or score on the 2 on 0, this is a totally different game.
A few thoughts:
The reffing was atrocious as usual.
We really missed Hamilton on the PP.
Kesler is a piece of sh**.
Ferland and Backlund were awesome tonight. I don't get how people can say the Flames were pushed around in this game. I didn't see that at all. I thought they matched up really well in the physical department, and it was great to see Stajan and Hathaway stick up for Johnny and give Kesler a taste of his own medicine. Nice to see Bouma get his nose dirty as well.
Also loved the monster hit by Gio at the end of the game. That was pure gold.
Kesler is a piece of sh**.
Gibson played really well.
And last but not least, Kesler is a piece of sh**.

By no means am I hanging this one on Johnson but sometimes the result comes down to elite goaltending performances versus good goaltending performances. Tonight John Gibson had a .969 save percentage while Chad Johnson had a .880 save percentage. That's all it takes in the NHL some nights.

Johnson played well. Special teams downed the Flames tonight. Betting Elliott gets the start on Saturday and Flames pick up the win.

A lesson the team needs to learn:
Initiate don't retaliate.

Don't understand how Kesler gets away with the cheap stuff he does every shift, especially on the face off.
Witnessed it for years now, how do the refs miss it every time?

The Flames can't do that because they'll be in the box (even more) every time.

3 main reasons they lost this game IMO;
1) Horse s*** officiating. The double standards in that game were a joke. The Ducks do something no call, Flames do it 5 minutes later 2 minute penalty.
2) Dennis Wideman. I've never seen anybody so slow both on his skates and his train of thought. Everything is in slow motion. That pinch where he had absolutely no chance of keeping it in leading to a 2 on 1 goal was mind boggling, then he dumps one over the glass when we are shorthanded already. I wish he would just go away.
3) Gibson was outstanding. Looked very in control and was square to the shooter on almost every shot. Really impressed by him.
