Good for him. I don't buy the Girgensons pandering a bit though - I would be shocked if Hartley viewed him more than one time, and would be even more shocked if Hartley viewed Jankowski once.
Hopefully this will lead into another HC position somewhere in the NHL. Might be a bunch of openings in the next year, just a matter of getting into the game of musical chairs.
I wonder if employment outside of the NHL affects NHL contract salaries?
Ex: Hartley is still getting paid from the Flames this year for X amount of dollars. That money is guaranteed and usually is a coach signs elsewhere for less money, the team who fired the coach makes up the difference.
