This one stings.
I have few idols, but Alan Thicke was one of them.
Just seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

Its funny because when I was at home with the flu I ended up watching fuller house because the cure to a flu is a couch trip with terrible TV. And Alan Thicke had a guest spot as a single Grandfather hitting on one of the girls and he was hilarious in it.

RIP

Robin Thicke wasn't the only one who could sing. His father Alan was also a singer and composer. Alan Thicke composed the theme song to Wheel of Fortune!

I remember the story that said Wayne Gretzky was babysitting for Alan Thicke the day he was traded from the Oilers.

That's how big of a celebrity Alan Thicke was. That story always makes me laugh when I hear it in the media.

2016 - the year when celebrities started dying.

New normal because you could argue that mass-market pop culture started in the 60s. Anybody who was in the 20s in the 60s is now 75+ years old. It will start happening.

as mentioned previously what a Canadian way to die - it is never a tradgedy to die doing something you like.

under the category of I never knew that:

- his sidekick on thicke of the night was aresenio hall
- he wrote and sang the theme song for different strokes

I admit to watching unually thicke because of his current wife, I thought she was a rocket

as mentioned above, there will be lots of more celebrities from our youth dying in the upcoming years due to their age

I hadn't seen much of Thicke since the Growing Pains days until recently. My wife is addicted to really cheesy Christmas movies and he was in one with Candace Cameron called Let It Snow. Then we just recently watched season 2 of Fuller House and he has a cameo in there as well acting again alongside Candace Cameron. I was looking this up today and figured out something I never knew, Kirk Cameron is her older brother.

Any rate random musings, but it is interesting how two situations I argued against watching something led to me being surprised by one of my favourite childhood actors in a pleasant and funny role.
