Patches is waking up ever since the drama with him not going out to greet the fans after getting a star a couple weeks ago

He doesn't "deserve" anything. He signed for 3 years to a garbage Avs team. Yes, some will say he signed when the Avs were somewhat good but everyone saw it wasn't sustainable and he could have signed a 1 year deal with them and took it one year at a time instead of commiting for the money. If his end goal was to win a cup that is.

At the time Iginla signed his current deal there was good reason to think that the Avalanche would have been competitive by now.

Joe Sakic might be the worst GM in the history of the NHL. Even worse than Garth Snow.

Yes, and he could have signed a one year deal. He chose to sign for 3 years so no he doesn't deserve better.

The Avs won the West the season before Iggy signed with them.

Not a chance. He's my favorite player of all time. I have 4 of his jerseys and love Iggy.

But come on, it's obvious he chased the money instead of the cup so why should anyone feel sorry for him?

No they didn't, they had a good season but finished second in the West. And they were a terrible team before that season, nobody was expecting them to be a contender.

Ridiculous. Iginla made a pragmatic decision that balanced a good paying contract and the realistic opportunity to play with an emerging group of star players.

Yes and like I said, he doesn't deserve better, he made the decision to take the risk and now has to live with it.

I really wish Roy was still coaching Colorado.

Avs finally score on their 6th shot of the game.

Because you don't agree with his decision he doesn't deserve a good outcome? That's some strange logic

To be honest, I don't blame Roy for abandoning this ship.
