IDK. Well run teams don't get complacent when winning, nor panic when losing. There are a ton of things this team could still be doing better.

I'd like to see if the Janko Shinkaruk Hathaway combo can recreate the chemistry they had in Stockton. Why not give it a shot? We could use some offense.

Great post, Hathaway deserves to play with some talent at this level too and it would be comfortable in a way for Janko.
I'd go with
Versteeg - Monahan - Brouwer
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Bennett - Stajan - Ferland
Shinkaruk - Jankowski - Hathaway
Scratch Hamilton, Chiasson (I know he got that goal but haven't liked his game at times)

Will also be watching the Stampeders game, but will flip back and forth a little bit.
Nice that Versteeg is back.

Yeah man, watching commercials and about 15 minutes of actual game time is awesome. I know NFL is the best football talent in the world, but my god does that league know how to suck any enjoyment out of the sport.

Hopefully can score some goals tonight. We are winning but scoring 2 goals agame only works when your goalie is playing Vezina hockey. Got to get those goals happening.

I agree there definitely is a lot this team could do better but I still feel like if they are winning with the lineup they have and the lineup they are going to use frequently why make any changes? Janko is getting valuable experience and it's not a situation like we have seen in the past with Wotherspoon/Kulak or Ortio where they sit for an extended period of time. He has been with the team for 3 days and can learn a lot.
I am excited to see him play and want to see him succeed but if he isn't put in it isn't a huge travesty or doing him a disservice. The team is winning and he is learning and that's important. If he does get in and play well that is awesome but it definitely doesn't hurt him to sit and watch a few games and experience some practice time.

This is a bit disingenuous, no? I suppose it all depends on what you choose as your representative sample size, but in the current road trip—which I would suggest is more characteristic of the Flames current play—they have scored at a 2.0 goals/game clip. That is not good, but it is absolutely NOT 1.6 GPG.
Moreover, the Flames problems scoring are not an area that I think Jankowski is in a position to help correct at this stage in his young career. The problem with the Flames is top line production—with Gaudreau injured and Monahan still struggling this has had a big impact on their ability to generate offense overall. Jankowski is not going to jump into top-line production in his first NHL appearance.
I would expect their secondary scorers like Brouwer, Tkachuk, Backlund and Frolik to continue doing what they are doing, and once Gaudreau is back and Monahan has found his form, the team as a whole will start to return to where they should be—which is a better-than-average scoring team.

I'm wearing my jersey today, and the Flames never win when I do these days. I'll be watching Grey Cup, but remain confident that both Calgary teams come away with big victories today.

Add a Raiders win over Carolina and I will be on cloud 9. Not often I can get the trifecta of all my teams playing and winning on the same day. If only one team has to win I'm going for the Stamps but would be nice to have everything!

No one cares that you guys don't care about the Grey Cup. Stop being elitist grouches and let us enjoy it. Go Flames and Go Stamps! Hope Jankowski plays tonight.
