Is Chad Johnson the defacto starter at this point?

Nice to see a w. Pretty solid game. Team is ok 5 on 5, if they win the special teams battle they should be winning more games.

When they get over .500 I'll start to actually get my hopes up.
Realized how stupid it was to get excited after every win while they're dwelling 3-4 games under.

All I want for Christmas is for the special teams to be ranked middle of the pack. This team is close if not in the playoffs with special teams.

I would say he is for now, yes. I don't know if it'll be that way all year, but he's outplaying Elliott by a wide margin.

I would say so as long as he's playing well as wins are the bottom line and they win more than not when Johnson's in net and lose more than not when Elliott's in net. It's not like the Flames are married to Elliott anyway as he's UFA at the end of the season.

Pretty good for a bunch of 3rd liners and guys who wouldn't even make other teams.
Ferland was great. Can't wait to see how good the draft pick we trade him for is since it's apparently going to be even better!
Go Flames!

6th shutout of his career. 6th win of the season. I like Chad Johnson.
I thought Wideman played a decent game today.
Ferland should be on the PP from now on.
I wonder what our record would be if we had even half good special teams. We look pretty good 5v5. I have a feeling this team may be better than we think. As soon as we figure out a few things like special teams we will go on a good run and be playoff contenders.

Solid game from the Flames, not a lot of drama outside the 4 min powerplay for Columbus. If Johnson keeps up this play I can't see why Elliott would be here past this season.

Kind of like the Flames under Hartley. Lots of offense and not a lot of great defensive play.

Pretty pleased with that game overall. I think the team's headed in the right direction, and although there are still hiccups occurring, they seem to be doing so with less regularity than very early on in the season. I feel like this is a win they simply wouldn't have had last year. We seemed to always get down first and then were unable to get the best of teams in these "grind'em out" style games, and didn't have the previous year's ability to miraculously come back in the final few minutes.
We'll keep slogging out the odd important win like this until the end of the year, and then Johnny will return and we'll pour on the taps for a big second half push!
