I think it was Bingo and some other guy who came up with the theory that Monahan is deferring to Johnny too much and thereby rendering himself less effective. Monahan is very effective and capable in his own right. He needs to start being himself on the ice, and Johnny and him need to compliment each other.
IMO - he's looked pretty good since Johnny has gone down. I'm obviously not saying Johnny brings him down or anything like that, but Monahan has been looking to Johnny to drive the play when he is capable of doing it himself as well. He needs to stop forcing plays, and just do the simple and effective thing that has made him the highest scoring pick of 2013.
