Well, hopefully the team rallies with Gaudreau being out. Hopefully that inspires them to all pick up any slack.
I would hope that Bennett gets put alongside Monahan. Hopefully the Flames come out skating harder than the Coyotes. At least this isn't a battle for last place any longer - Flames hold a 3 point lead over the Coyotes, but the Coyotes have 3 games in hand. Still, a win is a win and the Flames will hopefully get onto a bit of a roll now. I am sure everyone took a collective sigh of relief after last night's win, and hopefully the Gaudreau injury didn't take too much wind out of their sails.
Hopefully we see a lot less odd-man rushes than we did last night - it was a good effort, but still too many odd-man rushes for my liking, especially with a relatively anemic offence lately that is just sputtering along. Would love a blow-out game to just get everyone's confidence going again, but even just another win should do a lot to settle everyone down a bit.
My first game of the season. But pretty choked that Johnny won't be playing. Now this snoozefest will be even snoozier.
I'm hoping the team comes out of this angry and takes it out on the Coyotes. But knowing them, they very will might fold like a cheap tent and skate to a 3-1 loss.
Tuned in and really liked what I saw from the Flames in terms of neutral zone play. Looks like the system might be coming together in that area of the ice. Mega room left to improve but it actually looked like a system.

Without Gaudreau's give aways and soft checking, I think the Flames will find their identity in the coming weeks as a Sutter-esque lunch bucket crew of grinders and establish a winning record. By the time Johnny's healthy again the pressure for him to be 'the man' responsible for driving offence will be off and he'll excel like we've seen in the past.
Tonight: Flames win another tight one 2-1.

Certainly like this better than "we're doomed!" outlook of most posters

At this point I'd really like to see Jankowski - Tkachuk combo in action. Big playmaking centre playing with a power-forward winger is something the Flames have been lacking for decades.
