If the Flames won't make a video maybe CP's Video Master himself AC should make one.
Make that thing go viral.
Such bull####.
I watch NHL hockey because I want to see players like Johnny friggin Gaudreau make magical skill plays happen, not because I want to watch a bunch of crappy idiot players slash all the creativity out ofthe great ones.

Forget the wife, time to watch hours and hours and hours of games minute by minute.
I think at the rate these pile up, he'll be at it all year. And probably next year.
I'd semi-seriously suggest this become a CP project. Hand a bunch of volunteers a few games each and have them find each case of Gaudreau getting blatantly slashed.

This is what happens when a team doesn't stand up for their skilled players. When Johnny got slashed the first time any player with some moxy should have hit that player hard, slashed or fought him. A penalty like that is worth taking. A good HC would made a point to particular players what to do. Or God forbid called the ref over. Gulutzan did nothing but stare off into airhead space. Johnny's team mates did nothing until much later in the game after Gaudreau was slashed 5,6 times already.
Poor leadership.
And yes the Flames should sack up and send a compilation of slashes on #13 into the NHL and illustrate how many times the refs also did not call a slashing penalty. Any even farts near McCrybaby and the Coilers get a PP.

This.
These players are why fans watch. You're essentially making your product suffer if you don't protect the guys that put fans in the seats from players that will hack at them carelessly. I'm not sure I'd have turned on the TV if Gaudreau wasn't dressing for the Flames tonight, given the way they've been playing. Problem is they aren't calling ANY of those, is why it's enraging.
If the officials do it when someone touches McDavid, then surely they can hold the same standard around other high end players. Right?...

That's a great idea.

Someone from the press needs to ask GG or BT about it to get it out there to start.
Agree. That would be a good start. I don't expect much push back from the Flames management or the coaches. Let's face it they are toothless.
Put in Burke"s hands and maybe something gets out there.
I watch enough non flames games and I seriously don't think I've seen anyone else get the kind of treatment Gaudreau does. Maybe I am being a homer, but I just can't think of everyone getting slashed so much during a game. Everytime he has the puck someone is whacking him. Anaheim typically were really brutal too so maybe it's a tactic by Boudreau. Either way it needs to stop. Someone needs to step up and defend Gaudreau because right now no one is in my eyes. Ferland, engelland, Hathaway, Brouwer whoever someone needs to do it.
Any update on his condition? Will we hear anything tonight?

"I don't have any update on Johnny. I know he took a couple of slashes ... we'll see when I talk to the guys, how he is." - Glen Gulutzan

1)Elusive and quick where the stick is the natural methiod for reaching at a guy that's gone around you and
2)So short...6'2+ defenders can't put two hands on the stick and push the guy (violently or even just a shove to try and push him off the puck) because their hands will be at his head as opposed to the shoulder or upperbody.
Short of Crosby having the same thing happen, or maybe TSN with a round table panel if it happens to Matthews or Marner, nothings going to get done.
JG has to drop his stick everytime he gets a legit whack...but even that gets some refs against the fact that JG is showing them up or trying to draw a call.
Start slashing back. Every time Johnny is slashed, one of our players slash one of theirs.
I think this is really the essence of it.
If the league is going to turn a blind eye then you need to force their hand. If they aren't going to call slashes on Gaudreau, slash Parise and then complain to the league about unfair treatment when only the slash on Parise gets a call.
Face wash after whistles, shoot after whistles, crosschecks to guys getting up from the ice, sticks on the laces off the draw, every draw, etc.
The Flames are in a unique position this season to set a tone for the treatment of their star players because they aren't jeopardising a potential playoff position.
#### like this needs to be shoved in the leagues face for them to deal with or not deal with.

Unlikely coaches or management will take the fine to make a comment. As we've seen over the past few years, challenges to Bettman or officials don't usually work. Coaches and managers *have* spoken out in the past, but little happens.
OTOH, the players can speak about it. Most of them make more than enough to cover any kind of paltry fine - and if the NHL gets nasty, the NHLPA is sure to step in. I'd have every player every day chirping the non-calls after the game. Eventually even the NHL will have had enough of it.

Disagree. This is what happens when the refs don't call penalties for young guys.
There is Some BS excuse about young players not getting calls because they haven't paid their due blah blah blah. It happened to Crosby as well when he came into the league, he would get slashed and held and he would complain like Johnny does. Remember how everyone said he was a whiner and needed to just play hockey?
