It's been around for what, about a decade? Not too many bars last that long, couldn't have been that much of a failure.

I wonder how much the giant McDonald and Vernon statues would cost?

Yeah, that giant Jarome would look great on my lawn.

Been boycotting that tire fire since they refused to show a Flames/Canucks playoff game 2 years ago because they had a UFC fight on. Read your ####ing sign

Substandard food and service happened to that place. Yeah and totally failed to live up to their name. That Canucks Central thing was f'ing brilliant. Good riddance.

It's still open but has been turned into more of a venue for concerts and watching UFC it seems.
The food was subpar and expensive, the beer wasn't good. It was a fun sports bar when we lacked a lot of them downtown. Now there are so many good places to watch hockey in and around Calgary that it is a competitive landscape.

I thought they re-produced the saddledome food and bad beer outside the saddledome, with the bad pricing.... where you have a thousand options for something way better simply by crossing a street.
The idea would work if they treated it like a club for season ticket holders and flames fans and produced some great food and drinks. Add value.

Last time I was there was for a Motorhead concert.
My father in law once tried to burn the place down when it was a theatre. Back when you could still smoke everywhere, he flicked his ashes and started the seat in front of him on fire.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was the last time I was in there. I always wanted to see Flames Central, but getting down there is a pain in the ass.
