Haha is this a thing? Wishing for matching luggage to your spouse? The thought has literally never crossed my mind. Does it zip up and does it roll. Those are my luggage criteria.

Tumi is really good but I'm not sure it would be worth it unless you travel constantly? My hubby has a Tumi briefcase that he commutes with everyday (with toddlers, on public transit, and stuffed full of work stuff and lunch) and that bag is going on 3 years old and still looks brand new. It's actually pretty amazing. But the amount we travel, Tumi luggage would never be worth it. We just have duffel bags from MEC and some random old Costco suitcase.

Tumi is very well made. You can get deals on their website, sometimes they have some decent sales. The best deals are at the outlets, but with our exchange not so much anymore.
So I actually bought the Air Canada carry on off Amazon today. Luggage is the one thing I just cannot spend money on. If it works it works, don't need to be stunting at the airport.

I think Heys looks pretty nice and very durable. I have a set that has performed wondrously for quite a few years. You find it at Costco on occasion.
But in general, I find grabbing whatever is reasonably priced at Winners works pretty well too. I replace luggage probably once every 7-8 years.

Yeah, but I think the Bay has jacked up prices to begin with. I got the exact same luggage from Amazon cheaper than 60% off at the Bay.
...delivered right to my door.

Paid a little more for Victorinox luggage and really happy with them. I travel a lot and they handle wear and tear very well. Worth the money IMO.

We have a Tumi duffel with wheels that we got from an outlet for less than $250. A wicked deal. We also have a whole set of Briggs and Riley. Another very good brand name that has lasted 8 years and still looks new. Plus they have a lifetime guarantee. But I used to sell luggage, so I got a deal on those. But worth it even at regular price. We also have a 110 litre duffel from North Face that is handy when you're worried about weight. Wheels and handles add alot when it could mean an extra fee for being over weight.

Moved from a semi rigid suitcase to a rolling duffel bag last trip. It is lighter and you can pack more in it. Still a little leery about delicate items since it doesn't have that rigidity, but I'm sure it's fine if you pack it in the middle.
Grabbed a North Face Rolling Thunder on discount from Out There. Super beefy, good wheels. Not really "professional" looking bag though.

Why do you want a suitcase with four wheels? We have a few suitcases and two of them are the type that you tip and drag or push with two wheels and the other one is a four wheeler. The four wheeler we just got last year and I hate it. I find that it is much more difficult to move around especially outside of the airport where the ground is not smooth. The four wheeler also seems to constantly get stuck on flooring transition joints and elevator door tracks. I would never get a four wheeler again.

ALL ABOARD!

Be sure to really compare the size and weight. Lighter the better.
We opted for a larger suitcase thinking it'd be easier than carrying multiple bags. With weight restrictions on planes now we can only fill the thing 2/3 of the way before we hit the 50lbs mark. Then we're paranoid about what we bring back.

No way. 4 wheelers are awesome, so much more convenient especially for people who may not be as strong or for when you got it packed to the limited. Also great for one person to easily move 2 of them at a time. Hell even 4 of them at once is a breeze.
At the very worst you tip it a bit and you're back to it being 2 wheel tipper. Sure as heck not going the other way around.

I only use the 4 wheels when standing in line and such. Otherwise its used as a 2 wheeler. Best of both worlds.

I don't agree but maybe it is just my 4 wheeler and there could be better ones. I actually tried to tip it over and pull it like a two wheeler but the wheel design wouldn't let it work that way. I use a luggage strap/coupler when I travel with the family. I connect the two suitcases to each other, tip it onto the wheels and it is easy to pull two or three two wheelers.

That is the problem. Never have I had an issue using my 4 wheeler as a 2 with my set.

Briggs & Riley makes nice stuff. Been used a couple dozen times and still looks brand new.

Get it on sale at the Bay and make sure its an absurd color.
When you're checking out different brands make sure to put some heavy stuff in them and practice rolling around on 4 wheels to make sure they roll nice and straight and comfortably.

Luggage definitely seems to be near the top of the "you get what you pay for" list. I have a Tumi set and it's taken a beating and still looks good. Usually can get some sort of unique color/pattern that isn't too ######y. Finding them on sale can be pretty comparable to mid-range stuff.
