Not sure if the Wild Live guys are still the tandem in Minnesota, but Dan Terhaar & Mike Greenlay used to be super annoying. In the early 2000's, everybody (much like me) had the "stolen satellite signals" so NHL GameCenter used to have a lot of the Wild vs Flames games with the Minnesota feed opposed to Flames feeds. Those guys used annoy the crap out of me.
Terhaar got the axe a few years ago but Greenlay is still there. They replaced Terhaar with a guy who sounds like Yogi Bear to me. Terribly distracting while trying to watch a game.
Seems like as good a place as any to point out Derek Wills is the least tolerable person in broadcasting. Worst hire the Flames have ever made. And that's saying something.

Lost all respect I had left for Roger Millions, which was very little to begin with when he posted the pro-Trump stuff on his Twitter account.
He's one of the most unprofessional guys at his job and has covered the Flames for what seems like an eternity and has never broken anything and is always wrong on his Twitter about stuff relating to the Flames. It's not a shock he has no sources and gets no respect from the Flames.

I don't mind him that much but I must say he is way too much of a homer and doesn't seem like he watches the same games as us and is always way too positive even after the crappy start to the season. Doesn't like telling it like it is and will always find the positives. Sometimes it's just nice to say what actually happened even if it's negative.

In his radio spots he's a disagreeable surly sort, but his calls are pretty froofy
Honestly there aren't any guys I hate. I find the "biased" comments to be hilarious - as it usually reflects the persons own bias more than it does the announcers.
As for my favorites:
Chris Cuthbert to me is the best announcer in Canada - it's a shame he can't do more hockey games.
Bob Cole is a legend and I still love listening to him.
I think Doc Emerick and Eddie Olcyzk do a great job on NBC
There are many great ones to pick from, but the worst ones has to be the duo who does Avalanche games. Those guys are the biggest homers who ever homered.

Also had a weird thing in the first where he refused to call Dougie by that name. Said he's old enough now to drop the "-ie" and called him Doug for the first period.
I commend him for this.

Chara cheap shots a player after a clean hit and continues to assault the player in what is similar to an alleyway mugging that started with a right hook he wound up from the blueline
"Now that's just a good hockey play, love to see the Bruins sticking up for each other"
Nobody can out homer those homers, ever, in any sport. Blatantly dirty plays the announcers don't just ignore they celebrate.

My hockey viewing goes back a ways and I was able to watch Foster Hewitt call the Leafs games in his later years. His son Bill took over and did an admirable job after that.
Danny Gallivan calling the Habs games was electrifying. Maybe my all time favourite.
Jim Robson used to do a great job on the early Canucks broadcasts. Much like Peter Maher, he kept the level of excitement the same for both teams.

Yeah, I think Peter McNabb is the color guy...Those two always made me want the Avalanche to lose regardless of who was on the team.
I do think Brian Hayward is a whiner. I enjoy watching the Ducks get into penalty trouble and he pretty much starts crying in the booth. What a wanker that guy is.

The Avalanche broadcast is the worst. The play call is awful - they talk over plays, Haynes simply says "CHANCE" when something is happening, over and over, and they no-sell the other side. There are a number of terrible local US broadcasts (the Pens broadcast springs to mind as irredeemable), and frankly, anyone who calls hockey in Canada is well above average (though analysts not necessarily so).
The best broadcast team in the league among local calls is Strader and Reaugh in Dallas. Rick Ball is one of the better ones in Canada, though if you're counting Cuthbert / Miller / Ferraro then that one takes it.
Surprisingly enough, notwithstanding the homer moments, Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley for NESN call an amazing game of hockey. Every big moment that happens is bigger, every game has an importance to it that still feels genuine, and that's true for both teams.

Yep. Can't stand listening to Romanuk. It's like he's trying too hard to come up with unique phrases and wording and misses the game in the process. He also seems to have no idea when to get excited and when to stay calm.
This may be an unpopular opinion but I've always disliked listening to Bob Cole. His sing-song cadence sounds affected. Obviously, he's not as good as he used to be but even in his prime I found his PBP annoying. Probably the thing I found the most annoying is that not only is/was he a Leafs cheerleader but he often didn't even know or bother to learn how to pronounce names of players on the other team.
I don't mind Hughson. I think he's toned down the homerism over the years and calls a pretty good game. However, occasionally he gets stuck on a phrase and re-uses it over and over again, eg. "18 year old Sam Bennett"
One of my favorite colour guys was Scotty Bowman back in the day. I also liked Harry Neale until he got paired up with Cole and they did almost exclusively Leaf games.
