I know a few deals that got rejected where the secondary piece actually turned out to be an impact player.

Not sure how you avoid this but just thought I would mention this.
Yeah for sure. We can be wrong. We do our best - but this entire game is about projections.

I think if you polled every GM in this league, everyone would agree Perry is worth more than Jokinen but a fair amount. And that Korp has negligible value.

That way each player in the trade is given a value and it makes it easier to assess and make a decision to approve or reject. That also takes out any subjectivity of the decision making process.

I know having a tool like that would be very beneficial to me. I would also be happy to work on it if I can get some direction on how much weight there is on each item.
You are trying to turn something into a formula that can't be.
There is subjectivity involved. We acknowledge that.
However, we try to only reject deals where the value is clearly off.
As it was here, at least in our view.

Strive to make fair deals and most of the time there won't be an issue.

Perhaps being away for a year and playing websim has thrown my hockey values way off. Again, I wouldn't send a deal in if I didn't think it was close or 'fair' knowing the chance of rejection with a new GM.

20 divided by 20, my friend. 20/20.
